How to make a charcoal mask yourself?

This is the new fashion in cosmetics: the anti-blackhead mask based on activated charcoal. However, beware of certain products, containing glue, offered in supermarkets. To take no risk, we suggest you make your own treatment!

There are several recipes for making an anti-imperfection mask based on vegetable charcoal yourself. Here are two, 100% safe, natural and safe for the skin.

Coal, what is it for?

These aren’t quite the leftover logs from the fireplace, so avoid rubbing them on your skin to remove your blackheads! The process is a little more complex: the wood has been heated to a very high temperature, deprived of oxygen, in order to increase your carbon concentration. The charcoal acts on the skin like a magnet and attracts imperfections on the surface of the epidermis.

Beware of masks containing glue

On social networks, more and more young women are posting videos when removing their charcoal AND glue masks. This last ingredient is to be avoided at all costs. The glue is toxic and dangerous for the skin: redness, allergic reactions, swelling

Not only does it hurt (you just have to hear the howls of the bloggers) but in addition, little by little, the glue will damage the skin. The skin will be so stripped that it will not will retain more water necessary for its hydration and will no longer ensure its role of barrier against microbes and external aggressions.

A recipe based on aloe vera

We know that aloe vera is one of the miraculous plants for the skin and the whole organism. Compiled with activated vegetable charcoal, the cocktail can only be beneficial. Know that coal is reserved for acne, oily and combination skin. Dry skin should refrain to avoid further dehydrating their skin.

Mix a teaspoon of activated vegetable charcoal (or three capsules depending on the packaging chosen) and a tablespoon of aloe vera gel (organic), add a teaspoon of water or rose hydrosol. Apply to the face with a brush, avoiding the eye contours. Let sit for ten minutes then rinse with lukewarm water once the mask is dry.

A recipe based on green clay

Here is another natural detox recipe, purifying and effective against excess sebum, blackheads and impurities of all kinds. Mix a spoon of green clay, a quarter of a spoon of vegetable charcoal, a spoon of honey, a little rose hydrosol. Once the texture is homogeneous, apply on the face with a brush and leave for fifteen minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. That’s it, your skin is very soft!
