How can high creatinine be lowered? Are there ways that can aid treatment and make creatinine levels drop faster? Does lifestyle and diet affect creatinine levels? The question is answered by the drug. Anna Mitschke.
How can I lower creatinine levels?
Good afternoon, I would like to ask you how to lower high creatinine? I have had this problem for several weeks and I am under constant medical supervision, but it is still unknown if it is a result kidney problemsor something else. The doctor worries the most elevated creatininethat shows up in every study. Recently, I had 160 as a result, but in the next creatinine test the result was 170. Therefore, I would like to ask if there are any sensible ways to lower high creatinine?
I started looking for information on my own diets to lower creatininebut I miss specific ways that could help me in any meaningful way. Of course, I do not plan to interrupt the diagnosis or treatment proposed by the doctor, but I would like to somehow additionally reduce the level of creatinine. I must admit that this problem is stressful for me, and I do not have any hints on how lifestyle or diet can lower high creatinine.

Urine or blood creatinine tests are usually performed in the diagnosis of kidney disease. Creatinine is a substance that is formed in the human body as a result of transformation, primarily of skeletal muscles. Because it is excreted by the kidneys, it is used to evaluate their function. Usually, a blood creatinine test is ordered. Sometimes it is necessary to assess its daily urine excretion, which allows to calculate the so-called creatinine clearance.
Normal blood creatinine values are 53–115 µmol / l (0,6–1,3 mg / dl). A high level of creatinine in the blood indicates worsening of kidney function. It may be related to a chronic disease that has developed over the years. Sometimes, however, it occurs transiently, e.g. in the course of acute renal failure. There are many causes of kidney failure and sometimes they require extensive diagnostics. Many common civilization diseases deteriorate the functions of these organs. Kidney failure may be caused by many years of diabetes, atherosclerosis or arterial hypertension.
A common cause of acute kidney failure is reduced blood flow through the kidneys. This may be due to a reduction in circulating blood volume resulting from e.g. dehydration in the course of diarrhea or burns. Another cause may be heart failure, resulting in a drop in blood pressure and reduced blood flow through the kidneys. These are just some of the potential causes of worsening kidney function. Treatment depends on the cause of high blood creatinine levels.
Additional information from the medical history and test results are needed. On the basis of the creatinine value alone, it is not possible to determine which disease is responsible for the occurrence of renal failure. There is no home way to lower blood creatinine. I suggest you consult a doctor who will advise you on the correct course of action in the current situation. The doctor, knowing the entire clinical picture, will order the necessary tests and start the appropriate treatment.
