How to look younger after 40

These beauties often receive compliments – exceptionally well deserved. Wday.ru asked 40+ slim women what they do to look like this.

13 slender women answered simple questions:

  1. Why be slim?

  2. How do you manage to be so attractive?

Larisa Okuneva, head of department in the Chelyabinsk City Duma

  1. In order not to change your wardrobe.

  2. Yoga, mineral water, friendship with apples and cabbage, wrestling with buns and pies (with varying success).

Tatiana Korotkaya, journalist, mother of three children

  1. I have to go somewhere all the time. On the playground for the youngest daughter. Follow my son to the tree. In the elevator, where the husband, three children, a stroller and a scooter have already climbed. Or in your school skirt (just out of sporting interest). If I weighed 80 kg, it would be still a sight …

  2. I will reveal a terrible secret. They don’t get fat from pregnancy. They get fat from food. If you’re bursting on smoked sausage with chocolate muffins, then hormones are not to blame for excess weight. In this sense, I was lucky: I do not like sausage, but fruits, vegetables and cottage cheese. I also love sweets and even use them from time to time. But then I climb a hill, a tree and an elevator, and all the calories are burned. In general, my chief nutritionist is my one and a half year old daughter. She can’t stand it when I sit down at the table. Because while eating, I cannot tell fairy tales, paint and play pink elephant. So, in her opinion, I am wasting my time. Therefore, I eat twice a day – early in the morning, when she is still asleep, and in the afternoon, during sleep.

I give my supper … not to the enemy, but to the children – the ever-hungry growing organisms.

Olga Davidenko, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Journalists of Russia in the Chelyabinsk Region

  1. Because it is hard physically and mentally to be complete. I strive to stay slim, to be healthy, easy-going in the literal and figurative sense, to please myself and others.

  2. I don’t presume to judge the attractiveness, but healthy food and an active lifestyle help me to be slim. Three times a week I go to the gym, and in the winter I go downhill skiing, in the summer and in the off-season I go cycling.

Zhanna Aslanidi, clothing designer, tailor

  1. At 46, I am still a child – inquisitive and tasting the world. This is probably why I love being among children, it is interesting and fun for me to be with them. By the way, they are also with me on you. Being overweight, I could hardly, like them, ride bikes, ride down hills, climb caves and mountains. And my lion’s ego simply won’t allow me to differ in the photo – from afar, of course, in silhouette – from my daughter. In addition, the savings on fabrics are enormous! Consumption with a hip volume of 87 cm is much less, and you can afford more expensive cloths … just kidding! I just love that feeling of lightness and wings behind my back. On business within the city, I do not go, I run – a sort of bullet!

  2. It is very easy for me to stay in my 49 kg. Fractional nutrition for more than 20 years is when you eat whatever you want, 9 times a day, but portions are the size of a heart and only what brings pleasure – you are always full, satisfied, positive, dynamic and light! In snowless seasons, I ride a bike anywhere in the city – the gym is always under the booty. Money not spent on transport can be spent on tasty treats. And, of course, the simulators in my house are in the right places: you run from the workshop to the refrigerator – oops … tripped over the rider, jumped out of bed, and on the way to the shower – Leg Magic caught.

And also my personal experience, worked out over the years: with a sedentary job, like mine, you can also burn calories – learn languages, listen to programs that allow you to think. The analyzing brain also requires energy and takes them from ordinary food eaten with pleasure!

Tatiana Babenkova, designer

  1. Being slim is about being healthy, and that’s the most important thing.

  2. My recipe for being lean is to combine a healthy diet and moderate exercise. Do not throw yourself into active sports for a month, and then forget about it for two months, but do it regularly. Personally, I go to the gym, ride a bike in the summer and cross-country ski in the winter.

Natalia Bondarenko, swimming coach

  1. Slimness is a style of active life position, ease of movement and mood. Slimness – stylish!

  2. It’s simple: a lot of work for 14 hours a day, a minimum of food – as a rule, dietary meat and fresh green salads (or in winter season – from sauerkraut and vinaigrette), a lot of movement, yoga, stretching, classical choreography and your favorite tango!

Natalia Nikolaeva, psychologist

  1. It is much easier to be healthy, young and beautiful in a slim body! Therefore, I monitor my weight and figure almost constantly.

  2. About ten years ago, after the third birth, I gained an extra 15 kg, and I had to part with them for a very long time and stubbornly. Now I periodically arrange fasting days “on the water” and do not allow myself to gain more than 2 kg. I also cultivate a culture of proper nutrition, for example, I train myself to eat raw vegetables and fruits, although I really love all kinds of pastry delicacies. In terms of maintaining harmony and youth, the most important thing, in my opinion, is a psychological positive attitude. In my subconscious, I constantly introduce a clear and precise program: “I am young, slim, beautiful, healthy, happy …”. This is what I live. Even when I eat a cake, I inspire myself: “I’m getting slimmer!” And after all, such self-tuning helps powerfully!

We form ourselves and our reality with our thoughts, which is why it is so important to think brightly and positively about ourselves, as well. And, of course, I add movement to my life! Sports, dancing, travel. Everything that makes us stronger – makes us slimmer!

  1. It is very convenient to move around in a minibus, you can squeeze in very easily even into a crowded transport. I used to buy clothes in departments for teenagers – it was economical and fun. And the director releases the stage only if the form corresponds to the conceived – the ballerinas are intimidated all the time by weighing. And I don’t want to part with my childhood. It seems to me that while I am wearing, striving, flying, everything in life is going right. I believe that all the best is yet to come! So you have to step forward, run towards the sun and joy!

  2. I was lucky my parents taught me the joy of playing sports. I love running, outdoor games, I love movement. And movement is life! The feeling of flight and freedom, aspirations, the sound of the wind in your hair. It seems to me that this is the main guarantee of harmony.

Victoria Apalkova, designer

  1. To be slim – to lead a full, active life: do not choke, walk up to the 10th floor, swim – sometimes in the mighty ocean in the morning before breakfast! And yes, so that there are no bags under the eyes.

  2. My way of being slim is, first, to be responsible for what I eat; second, move; thirdly, to balance yourself in all situations, to tune in to the positive.

Natalia Galkina, yoga instructor

  1. Just being slim is fashionable and comfortable. Slenderness, like modesty, adorns any woman. It is also one of a thousand possibilities, to paraphrase Charles Montesquieu, to be attractive. A slender person is easy-going and more mobile, open to everything new.

  2. My rather active lifestyle helps me to stay slim. Firstly, it is a passion for yoga. Yoga practice harmonizes all processes in the body: it makes it possible to maintain a calm mind and better feel your body, be aware of its needs. Secondly, various useful activities – mountain tourism, hiking and a new hobby – Scandinavian walking. Thirdly, I really love travel. And, as you know, it is better to travel light – there is no need for extra cargo.

Galina Sheveleva-Timofeeva, journalist, editor of the portal

  1. Ever since the boy in the pioneer camp (which, by the way, I liked) said that I was fat, my efforts in life are trying to combine two concepts – “I” and “slimness.” I didn’t know I was fat, but it was true. I wanted to become a beauty and always slim.

  2. Total: since school time, I have not eaten sugar and butter. I use them with rare exceptions. I can eat buckwheat or tomatoes with apples for a week, and I can also lose weight on boiled chicken breasts. So losing weight is not a problem. And you know, I love to grow thin, I love to be malnourished. I even like to be a little hungry. This means that I am getting slimmer, and then I am in a very good mood. I like myself, and this is the main thing! In today’s advanced years, I understand that keeping fat mass (and no more) is optimal for health and good appearance. I like walking down the street with my 12-year-old son, and so that everyone thinks that the age difference is small.

I want my legs to carry me easily and quickly, and not be overloaded with mass. So that my heart works clearly, and does not think how to pump blood vessels in a hundred-kilogram body.

Ekaterina Averyanova, personal trainer

  1. Being slim is beautiful, it is a bonus to health, it is good health.

  2. I don’t eat much. I absolutely do not eat sweets. Fruit for me is a separate meal, by no means a dessert after a meal. Plus, I work out in the gym all the time.

Margarita Razumnaya, radio host

  1. Being slim is worth it to feel comfortable. Because I know for sure: what’s inside is outside. Slimness is the personification of health.

  2. I agree with the proposal of Maya Plisetskaya – we should “eat less”. I eat a little myself and occasionally am a vegetarian. It is important to be mobile and active – and this is daily walks in the woods, on foot or by bike. I meditate regularly – to balance my body and soul. I do yoga.
