A rose in a vase can stand long enough if properly cared for. Moreover, there is nothing difficult in caring for a beautiful flower, and you will have to spend 15 minutes every two days.

Keep your roses fresh from the first minute

Rose is not the longest-lasting flower, many believe, but they are fundamentally wrong. To preserve the freshness of the pink bouquet, it must be properly cared for. And in gratitude for the care, the flowers will give you a summer aroma and aesthetic pleasure for up to two weeks. Take your time to get rid of the beautiful gift wrapping of the bouquet. After all, florists hide a flower in several layers of film and crumpled paper not only for profit. Inside the package, the microclimate familiar to the rose remains, and the rose lives in it much longer. If you still can’t wait to disassemble the bouquet and throw away the packaging, give it at least a few hours so that the flower gets used to the air temperature and humidity in the room. You should not immediately put flowers in a vase either. Take the time and effort to “drink” the roses. To do this, they are lowered into a bathroom or basin filled with room temperature water so that the leaves and stems are under water, and the buds are not immersed in the water. While the flowers are in the water, you can cut the edges of the stems of roses by 1–2 cm. Moreover, it is better to cut the cut diagonally. And slightly flatten the ends of the cut so that air plugs come out of the stems and the water is better absorbed by the stems of the flowers. Do not forget to also remove the bottom leaves of the roses, those that run the risk of being in the water after dipping the bouquet in the vase. This will prolong the freshness of the flower arrangement for another 1-2 days.

Which vase is best for a pink bouquet

Roses stay longer in vases tall enough to keep at least two-thirds of the stem of the flower in the water. And, of course, there is nothing better for flowers than ceramic vases, which do not transmit light, which results in better preservation of the freshness of the water in them.

As for the water in which the pink bouquet will be stored, you can safely pour tap or even boiled water into the vase. The chlorine contained in the water will not interfere, and even help keep the flowers longer by preventing the reproduction of putrefactive bacteria. For additional disinfection of water, vodka (a tablespoon), an aspirin tablet or a pinch of citric acid are added to the water.

Instead of vodka and aspirin, you can put a silver spoon or ring in a vase. The main thing is not to forget to remove the silver object from the vase before pouring the water into the sewer.

In summer, the temperature of the water in the vase can be slightly cooler than room temperature, but in winter it is better to give preference to liquid at room temperature, so as not to “freeze” the bouquet. A cut rose flower of any color needs nourishment. A bouquet can replenish the supply of carbohydrates from sugar, which is added to the water in a vase at the rate of a teaspoon per liter.

If you are sure that the roses were treated with chemicals, then add some detergent or bleach to the vase. This chemistry will only be useful for the bouquet.

And, of course, don’t forget to change the water in the flower vase. This should be done at least once every two days. In this case, you need to update the flower cuts, wash out the vase and add aspirin and a little sugar to the water again. Compliance with all these simple requirements will increase the life of your bouquet for a long time.
