How to iron tulle with a steam generator?
In case of improper use and violation of the maintenance requirements, a tulle product can be easily damaged. Under the influence of high temperature, the delicate structure of the material deforms and loses its aesthetics. To avoid trouble, you can use a steam generator.
You can iron tulle in different ways
Stages of ironing tulle products:
- Hang clothes or furnishings neatly.
- Treat large areas of material with a steam generator until wrinkles and bumps disappear.
- Steam off small parts.
The process can be repeated several times if necessary.
Can tulle be ironed with an iron?
If there is no steam generator, you can replace it with an ordinary iron, but you will have to act much more carefully:
- the temperature of exposure to the material should be minimal, therefore, before ironing, you need to set the mode “for delicate fabrics” on the iron;
- you need to iron through a dense fabric to avoid contact of delicate tulle with the heated metal of the iron;
- when smoothing the fabric, do not use the steaming function, this may damage the fabric.
To get rid of wrinkles on sleeves, pockets and other small details of clothing, you need to use a special ironing pad.
Can tulle be ironed in other ways?
Without special devices at hand, you can use alternative methods of caring for things made of tulle:
- To tidy up a wedding dress or other delicate item with lots of folds, hang it over the bathtub and turn on the hot water. The steam emanating from the water will smooth out irregularities in a few hours and return an attractive look to the outfit.
- You can use a regular kettle to steam a small product. When the water boils and steam comes out of the spout, you need to bring the crumpled thing to it and hold it until it smoothes out.
- You can smooth tulle with a spray bottle with water and a hair dryer. After sprinkling on the selected area of the material, it is tedious to dry it with a hairdryer until it is smoothed out.
These simple methods will help you easily tidy up the tulle product, gently smooth out the folds without damaging the material.
