How to iron a woolen coat, is it possible to iron a drape coat
Keeping your outerwear clean is easy, just wear it carefully and wash it regularly. It is difficult to completely smooth out creases on things made of heavy fabrics, so it is worth figuring out how to iron a woolen coat and at the same time keep its presentable appearance. It will take some preliminary preparation and a lot of patience.

In order not to experience difficulties in smoothing folds on the drape or cashmere, it is easier to prevent them from forming.
To do this, follow these simple rules:
- do not throw the coat and avoid keeping it on the loop for a long time;
- after washing, do not wring out by twisting, gentle squeezing is permissible;
- dry outerwear horizontally, after carefully straightening it.
For long-term storage, use a hanger and a special case.
Can a coat be ironed without an iron?
If creases have formed on the surface of the cashmere, then you can try to straighten them without an iron:
- turn on hot water in the bathroom to generate a lot of steam;
- hang your coat over water for at least an hour;
- gently smooth out the steamed cloth with your hands, you can use soft brushes or a large sponge.
This method is only suitable if the product is crumpled quite a bit and it is enough to simply refresh it.
How to iron a drape coat without ruining it
If deep creases appear on the fabric after transportation, washing or storage, the coat will have to be ironed. The process is not easy, if you do not want to waste time or are in doubt about your abilities, take it to the nearest laundry, there they will quickly and neatly return the clothes to an attractive look.
Prepare your coat before starting work. It should be slightly damp, dry cloth will not smooth out. You can wet it with a spray bottle. Prepare cheesecloth and a bowl of water. You can start ironing.
- Turn out the pockets, iron the back and the shelves from the wrong side.
- Next, iron the sleeves from the inside out.
- Be careful with the cuffs, they are ironed only through damp gauze so as not to scorch the coat and avoid bald spots.
- Turn the coat over to the right side and turn on the steam mode; steam the drape, barely touching the fabric, in no case press the iron too hard.
The ironed coat should be completely cooled before putting it on or storing it.
Now you know how to iron a coat: you need a steam iron and a little patience, and if the bruises are small, then ordinary humid air can handle it.
