- The product should be slightly damp. If it’s already dry, you need to moisten the gauze.
- The surface of the iron must be perfectly smooth, without any pitted spots, otherwise the fabric can be damaged.
- You cannot spray on chiffon from a spray bottle: stains will remain.
- It is necessary to follow the iron heating temperature indicated on the label, usually it is one.
- During the ironing process, do not stretch the fabric so as not to deform it.
- You need to start ironing in the most inconspicuous place to check if the heating is correct.
Some products do not need to be ironed at all; they can be hung wet enough on hangers and allowed to dry away from heating devices and direct sunlight.
How to iron a pleated chiffon skirt
A pleated chiffon skirt requires very careful handling. It is best to hang it on a hanger and treat it with a steam generator or an iron with a vertical steaming function. However, the steam must be slightly diffused in order to moisturize the fabric without hitting it under pressure, so keep the source of steam at a distance from the fabric.
The lining of the skirt can be ironed on an ironing board through gauze or fine fabric.
After steaming, the pleated skirt should be left upright to dry.
Only after it has cooled completely can a skirt be put on or hung in the closet.
