How to iron a jacket with an iron at home

Before starting the process, prepare the required components:

· iron;

Gauze;

· A small container with water;

· Culinary rolling pin;

· towel;

· A brush for clothes;

· A small hard pad for ironing.

If your iron is equipped with a steamer, you will not need a container of water. In this case, while ironing the jacket through gauze, turn on the steaming mode. A rolling pin and towel will come in handy if your ironing board does not have a narrow sleeve board.

The jacket must be clean. If you took it out of the cabinet, be sure to shake it out of dust and additionally clean it with a brush. Get started after reading the care label. See what temperature conditions your jacket should be ironed at. Work strictly following the instructions.

The jacket must be ironed in a certain sequence:

1. Begin ironing the jacket from the sleeves. If there is a small plaque, the sleeve is put on it. If not, wrap a towel around the rolling pin and tuck it into your sleeve. This will allow you to iron it without creases. Be sure to iron through cheesecloth.
2. The fleece is always ironed from top to bottom. Any other can be ironed, as you like, but from yourself – along the length of the product – and in one direction.
3. After the sleeves, move on to the shoulders. We lay the ironing pillow on the seamy side of the shoulder. Carefully steam the fabric through cheesecloth. To avoid creases, try to stretch your shoulder as much as possible along the plane of the pillow. If there is no pillow, you can do this by pulling your shoulder over the narrow end of the board.
4. Then we proceed to the lapels. Most of the jackets are made with an adhesive backing. How to iron the jacket in this case? The lapels and front shelves of the glued product must not be steamed. Bubbles may appear on the parts. It will be difficult to fix this error. Iron them through dry gauze without turning on the steamer.
5. Iron the seams from the inside out without much effort. Turning the product over to the right side, try to avoid seams or iron them without pressure. Otherwise, you risk printing them on the front side.
6. The back of the jacket and the collar are ironed last.

If you need to straighten the jacket after it has been folded, fill the bathroom with hot water. Hang the jacket over the rising steam. After a while, he will straighten out. This advice is valid for products made from natural materials.
