The results of the urine dipstick examination

THEurine test strip is one of the most frequent analyzes. It makes it possible to highlight urogenital infections, but also various metabolic, hepatic and renal disorders.

The test consists of a strip with reactive zones making it possible to look in the urine for the presence of different elements such as nitrites, proteins, glucose, ketone bodies, urobilinogen, bilirubin but also to estimate density or pH.

Be careful, the interpretation of chemical reactions can lead to “false positives”, due to the consumption of certain drugs, a high dietary intake of nitrites or very colorful (beetroot), large amounts of vitamin C or traces of antiseptics.
