Libido is an important aspect of life. Simply put, it is sexual arousal. The desire for sex and its lack affects our well-being and the quality of the relationship. It is often said that women have less desire for intercourse and seek intimacy, while men “only care about one thing”. Today it is known that everything depends on the person – there is no difference between female and male libido. Women more often succumb to social constraints and mental inhibitions, hence the stereotype of their lower drive. However, there are times when you just don’t feel like it. However, there are effective ways to increase female libido – below we present the most effective of them!

  1. Change your method of contraception – many hormonal contraceptives contribute to a decrease in the desire for sex. Research by German scientists has shown that women who use this type of protection more often suffer from libido problems than those who protect themselves against pregnancy mechanically, e.g. with a condom. The use of contraception can cause vaginal dryness, orgasm problems and pain during intercourse in different people. Of course, much depends on the individual predisposition of the body – one person will experience such symptoms, another will not. However, if you feel that your decrease in sexual activity may be related to your method of contraception, switch to another method. Tablets and other methods (e.g. discs) that do not cause a decrease in libido are already available on the Polish market. If you have a problem with a depressed mood and bad mood as a result of hormonal contraception, you can also use special protective pills.
  2. Get enough sleep – it has been proven that a rested body has a better chance of a successful sex life. A firm, regular sleep is very important. Fatigue (both mental and physical) is a factor that effectively reduces libido.
  3. Practice – regular physical activity is an ally of successful sex. It causes the secretion of dopamine in the body, which increases the amount of hormones responsible for libido. During exercise, we also release endorphins, the happiness hormones. In addition, physical effort and the effects associated with it (improvement of the appearance of the figure) make us feel more confident, our sense of attractiveness increases, which, as we know, has a positive effect on sex life.
  4. Take vitamins – a deficiency of certain components in the body, such as vitamins A, C, E, B and omega 3 acids, causes both a decrease in energy and a decrease in the desire for intercourse. Regular intake of these ingredients will make you feel better and increase your libido at the same time.
  5. Have sex often – it is not true that abstinence makes you want sex. On the contrary – in this case, the appetite grows with eating! The more you make love, the more you want it. As with eating sweets: for the first few weeks it is hard to resist trying a piece of chocolate, and after some time the craving for chocolate almost completely disappears. Don’t let the same happen to your sex life.
  6. Eliminate boredom in the bedroom – in long-term relationships, after some time there is a situation when sex is no longer as much fun as it used to be. You can remedy this by introducing bed changes, e.g. try a new position, invest in sexy underwear, gadgets, use preparations to increase libido (for example, herbal mixtures, intimate gels, eliminating vaginal dryness, tablets, special teas).
