How to increase air humidity? Video
The optimal indicator of air humidity in summer is 60–70%, and in winter – 55–65%: it is with such values of air humidity that a person feels comfortable. Dry air negatively affects the state of the respiratory system, vision, the appearance of the skin and hair, as well as overall well-being. You can increase the humidity level with the help of special humidifiers or time-tested folk methods.
Breeding moisture-loving indoor plants is an effective way to increase the humidity of the air at home
Indoor plants will not only decorate the room, but also saturate the air with moisture. Broad-leaved flowers, as well as plants with many small leaves, cope better with this task. These include dieffenbachia, monstera, ficus, etc. Also, most of these indoor plants like spraying – a procedure that additionally humidifies the air. For spraying, it is recommended to use boiled water cooled to room temperature or settled water.
Chlorophytum is a wonderful evaporator: it saturates the air with moisture and cleanses it of toxic substances
Aquarium – home air humidifier
All artificial reservoirs intended for breeding ornamental fish or other freshwater inhabitants are equipped with a water filtration system. Part of the aquarium water, passing through such a filter and entering the common tank, evaporates. Also, some of the water evaporates from the surface of the artificial reservoir. Only this humidifier needs to be well looked after. An alternative to an aquarium can be a decorative fountain or an evaporator – a ceramic vessel into which water is poured (it is recommended to hang evaporators on heating radiators).
Instead of vaporizers, you can also use beautiful vases and jars.
Wet cleaning is a quick way to humidify the air in a room
Wet cleaning refreshes the apartment, and therefore it is easy to breathe after such a procedure. The only drawback of such humidification of dry air is a short-term effect: usually the desired result lasts only a few hours, and then everything returns to normal.
Ventilation as a way to humidify the air
The easiest and most affordable way to humidify the air at home is airing.
This procedure is recommended to be carried out three times a day for 5-10 minutes.
However, this method of air humidification is ineffective in summer in dry weather and frosty winter.
Hanging wet towels on heating radiators
This method of air humidification is acceptable during the heating season. You need to hang wet terry towels or cloths on the batteries and leave them to dry completely. Then they must be moistened again and hung again on the batteries. If the towel dries too quickly, it is recommended to put a bucket or bowl of water next to the heating element and lower one end of the towel into this container.
