How to grow mushrooms in the country
To get a rich harvest of mushrooms, you need to know how to grow mushrooms. To do this, you need to prepare a substrate from a certain material, planting beds and properly care for the mushrooms during growth.
How to grow champignon mushrooms?
In spring and summer, mushrooms are grown outdoors, and in the cold season – in rooms with a temperature of about + 12 ° C.
The following stages are distinguished:
- preparation of the substrate;
- laying of beds;
- landing;
- care.
It is important to pay attention to each process.
Chicken droppings, horse and pork manure are used as soil for mushrooms. Wheat straw, bedding, leaves, and stalks of cereals are also added to manure or droppings. Their ratio is 80:20.
How to prepare the substrate?
The most time consuming process when growing mushrooms is preparing the substrate. Cook it outdoors, as fermentation produces a lot of gases and moisture.
A heap is formed from horse manure and straw bedding and filled with water. For 0,5 tons of manure, 1,5 kg of ammonium sulfate are added. After a few days, it is mixed and leveled. 2 kg of gypsum is introduced. Mix and level the substrate every 6 days 3 times. As soon as the mass becomes homogeneous and the smell of ammonia disappears, it is considered ready.
How to lay the ground and plant mycelium?
For growing mushrooms, long wooden boxes, racks, and an earthen floor are used. The thickness of the substrate on the floor should be 35 cm, on racks 40-45 cm, in boxes 25 cm. After laying, the manure is tamped and leveled. If you are in doubt about how to grow mushrooms in the open air, then there is a basic rule. Lay the soil only after the soil has warmed up.
Be sure to protect the ridges with awnings from rain and sun
Before planting, the temperature of the prepared substrate is measured every day at a depth of 3-5 cm. As soon as it reaches 27 ° C, start planting. To do this, you need a sterile mycelium, which is sold in glass containers. Break it into small pieces with a diameter of 4 cm. Plant them in the holes. From above, the mycelium is covered with 2 cm of the substrate.
How to care for mushrooms?
Care in the first days for mycelium is simple:
- keep the temperature between 25-26 ° C;
- keep humidity at 55-60%;
- provide a regular supply of fresh air to the room.
When the mycelium has grown, lower the temperature to 20 ° C and cover the surface of the substrate with soil. It should be loose so that oxygen can easily penetrate to the mycelium.
Pay attention to the mycelium, and mushrooms will appear in a month. Fruiting lasts 2-3 months.
Having learned how to grow mushrooms in the country, you can regularly get rich harvests.
