To grow dill, choose a spacious container, as the roots of this herb grow actively. You can buy ordinary land – for indoor plants or prepare it yourself from garden soil, sand and peat. It is imperative to put drainage under the layer of earth.

Plant seeds as follows:

  1. Soak seeds in warm water for 2 days. Change the water 3-4 times during this time. So young sprouts will appear faster.
  2. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil at a short distance from each other. If you sprinkle them too thickly, it will be more difficult for them to germinate and develop.
  3. Mix the peat with humus and sprinkle the mixture over the seeds.
  4. Spray the ground liberally with water from a spray bottle.
  5. Cover the pot with a piece of glass or stretch plastic over it. Seedlings will appear in a week.
  6. At this time, you can remove the protection and put the pot in its permanent place.

Keep crops in a bright place. If you grow dill in the winter, create artificial lighting for it. Turn on the lights for 2 hours early in the morning and in the evening. The temperature in the room should not be higher than + 20 ° С. Water the seedlings regularly. The land should be constantly moist, but not swampy. Feed the dill with any mineral fertilizer a couple of times a month.

Remember that the cut dill does not grow back. If you want your pots to always be full of greenery, add new seeds every month.

It is worth at least once to grow dill at home to understand that it is not as difficult as it seems. You will quickly learn how to select the right pots and soil, plant seeds correctly, and care for your seedlings.
