How to germinate mandarin seeds for planting
For planting, seeds are taken from fruits that contain them in abundance. These are hybrids, their seeds give strong shoots, fruit that tastes good. It is easier to graft a varietal stalk or bud on them. Select at least 10 strong, defect-free seeds. This is done because not all seeds will sprout and not all seedlings will be successfully grafted.

Fresh seeds are sown in cups or bowls. If the bones are a little dry, they are placed in a damp cloth and placed in a warm place for 2-3 days. You can put the underwired cloth in polyethylene and keep the cloth damp all the time.

Seedling pots are kept in a bright, warm place. They are watered regularly, the temperature is monitored. It should be between 20-25 ° C. After 15-30 days, sprouts will appear. After the appearance of 4 leaves, the seedlings, if they grew together, are transplanted into separate cups. As soon as the roots become cramped, the plant is transplanted into a larger container. The volume of the pot is increased gradually so as not to overmoisten the roots, which the tangerine does not like.

Young tangerines are not fed, but every year they are transplanted into pots 4-6 cm larger than the previous ones. Adult specimens over 5 years old are fed from spring to late autumn with special fertilizers for citrus fruits. Top dressing is stopped 14 days before transplanting and resumed 14 days after it.

If you want to guaranteed to get delicious tangerines, you need to graft a bud with a leaf petiole from a varietal tangerine on a seedling that has reached a thickness of 0,6 cm. A T-shaped incision is made on the stock at a height of 6-7 cm from the ground with a sharp disinfected knife. Gently unscrewing the edges of the bark, insert a bud with a petiole, press the bark back, process the cut with garden pitch and tie it tightly.
A rootstock with a scion is created by greenhouse conditions. After a month, the greenhouse is removed, the bandage is removed, the stem of the stock is shortened obliquely close to the scion. The cut is processed with a pitch.
