How to get tanned fast

Summer is just around the corner. Coats hang in closets, boots have been replaced by sandals, and everyone is looking forward to hot days when they can show off in open dresses, admire their new summer look and velvety tanned skin. Today, natural tanning is the standard of beauty and health, helping girls look fresh and natural. Woman’s Day and Katja Warnke, head of the NIVEA SUN Research and Development Center, learned 10 rules for a perfect tan.

You need to prepare for sunbathing

A couple of days before visiting the beach, epilate so that excess hairs do not interfere with the tan to lie down evenly. On the eve of the procedure, go to the sauna, do a peeling: it is easier to cleanse steamed skin by exfoliating keratinized particles. In addition, a couple of hours before visiting the beach, be sure to moisturize your skin with special cosmetics, as tanning can help dehydrate the skin.

Not all Russian women, when sunbathing, use sunscreens. Some consider them useless, others, on the contrary, worry that the SPF cream will work “too well” and will not give the desired tanning shade.

When in the sun, be sure to apply and regularly renew sunscreen products. They not only protect the skin from sunburn, but also prevent premature skin aging and reduce the risk of sun allergies.

For the correct application of sunscreen in lotion format, NIVEA experts have developed a “palm rule”: squeeze out a strip of sunscreen from the wrist to the tip of your middle finger, the amount needed to apply to each area of the body.

Exposure to the sun’s rays cannot but injure the skin, therefore it is best to use products with additional caring components to protect the skin from the sun. It is worth taking a closer look at sunscreens that contain, for example, jojoba oil, vitamin E, and aloe extract.

Protect fair skin and moles

For people with fair skin, in which there is little melanin pigment, prolonged exposure to the sun is dangerous. And for those who have a lot of moles, it is better to reduce exposure to the sun to a minimum. If you still want to sunbathe, always use products with the maximum degree of protection, reapply the product every two hours, and try not to be in direct sunlight from 12 to 15 hours.

If you want a long-lasting tan with a rich shade, use a tanning activator. Products that enhance the natural production of melanin, which gives the skin a darker tone, are especially good.

The degree of tanning is individual for each person. She, like the color type of the skin, depends on a genetic predisposition. When using products that stimulate the production of melanin, you can get a long-lasting tan of a beautiful, natural color that is as dark as possible for your skin.

Don’t forget about hydration

After sunbathing, shower and apply an after-sun product to help restore skin cells and hydrate. It will help keep the skin from flaking and keep your tan for a long time.

Please note that vitamin A contributes to getting a quick tan, which accelerates the production of melanin and aids skin regeneration. It is found in large quantities in yellow, red and green vegetables and fruits: carrots, apricots, pumpkin, dates, dried apricots and mangoes, as well as in many berries and herbs: viburnum, spinach and parsley.

If you sunbathe lying on a lounger and regularly roll over from your back to your stomach and vice versa, there is a great risk that you will tan unevenly. The easiest way to get an even and rich tan is to have an active rest: playing beach volleyball, walking along the shore.

Choose a time to visit the beach

Try to sunbathe in the morning – before noon – and after 16 pm. Also, remember that neither water nor shade will protect you from UV rays.

Now there are after-sun lotions, which have a complex effect: they not only restore the moisture balance of the skin, but also strengthen and maintain the tan, activating the natural production of melanin. It turns out that you continue to “sunbathe”, even leaving the beach, and the skin acquires a more intense bronze tint.
