After the summer, the skin may be visibly dehydrated, irritated, with many discolorations and even acne lesions. This is influenced by a number of weather factors including sun, wind and salt water. Therefore, after the holidays, the skin requires regeneration and a special approach to care.

What happens to the skin after summer?

In late spring and summer, the skin is lightly sun-kissed and therefore appears more radiant and looks healthy. These are only appearances, because solar radiation and frequent contact with salt water disturb the balance of the hydro-lipid layer, which leads to dryness and dehydration. During the holiday season, many people forget to systematically apply a cream with UVA and UVB filters, which may cause microdamages on the surface of the epidermis, which in the long run accelerates the aging process of the skin.

Dryness, itching and burning are not felt until autumn, and these symptoms are exacerbated by staying in heated rooms. The skin then loses its elasticity, is thinner, rough to the touch and more sensitive to mechanical damage. There may be visible peeling of the epidermis in places.

Acne-prone people may notice a significant improvement in the appearance of their skin during the summer season. However, it is worth remembering that the problem does not disappear, but only temporarily “mutes”. When the drying of the skin increases in autumn, the sebaceous glands begin to secrete much more sebum, which only promotes the appearance of open and closed blackheads, discoloration and other skin lesions.

Properties of vitamin PP in skin regeneration

Vitamin PP is distinguished by its wide use in both medicine and dermatology. It is also called vitamin B3 or niacin. Used in creams, gels and ointments, it penetrates into the deep layers of the skin, has anti-inflammatory and regenerating properties. It is especially recommended for people prone to acne, because it regulates the work of the sebaceous glands and inhibits inflammatory mechanisms related to, among others, multiplication of bacteria.

Niacin also has an antioxidant effect, which means that it contributes to the elimination of free radicals accelerating the aging process of the epidermis. What’s more, vitamin B3 visibly reduces discoloration and tones and firms the skin that is dried out after summer.

How to take care of your skin after summer?

In order to effectively regenerate the skin after summer, it is necessary to choose the right care. The basis is the systematic cleansing of the facial skin (in the morning and evening). This step will allow you to get rid of the accumulated dust during the day and night, dead epidermis and excess sebum from the skin surface. However, it is important that the face wash gel is hypoallergenic, i.e. it does not contain any irritating or allergenic substances. A good example is the product of the Cerko – Cerkopil brand. It is effective and at the same time gentle in its action and therefore it can be successfully used by people with sensitive and atopic skin.

Skin regeneration after summer also requires the use of creams that replenish the deficiency of nutrients and retain moisture even in the deep layers of the epidermis. One of the solutions is the application of the CERKODERM 5 cream with 5% urea and vitamin PP on the face. Such a complex supports the reconstruction of the epidermis, has a depigmenting and anti-aging effect. Moreover, it does not cause allergies and is completely safe to use.

The hands, knees and elbows are other places on the body where the skin shows signs of dryness. The latter two are not equipped with sebaceous glands and therefore need extra hydration. For this purpose, it is worth reaching for the CERKODERM 10 cream with 10% urea and vitamin PP. This composition will meet the requirements of dry, rough, flaky skin with visible signs of solar keratosis.

After summer, drying of the scalp is also observed, especially in people who have been in the sun for a long time without adequate protection in the form of a cap or hat. In autumn, such epidermis is not only dry, but can also cause noticeable itching and dandruff. In this case, you can use Cerkogel 10% urea gel with L-Arginine and AHA acids. Applied to the scalp, it supports anti-dandruff treatment, reduces itching, moisturizes and smoothes.
