How to get rid of the smell of vinegar in an apartment
If you use a little vinegar, the smell will not persist. To quickly get rid of the slight odor of the substance, you need to take the following measures:
- open all doors and windows;
- carry out wet cleaning.
At the same time, the vinegar “aroma” should be well eroded from the room. As a result, there will be no tart smell – only cleanliness and a fresh look of housing will please.
If vinegar is spilled on the carpet, the smell can be simply suffocating. In this case, you can remove it in two ways.
- use of ammonia, washing powder and water. First you need to make a solution from these components: dilute 2 tbsp. l. powder in 5 liters of water, add 1 tbsp. l. ammonia. Rub the resulting solution with a sponge into the carpet and wipe the vinegar stain. Wash off the foam with a damp cloth. Vacuum or dry the carpet naturally.
- dishwashing detergent is used. First, moisten the odor source with water. Apply detergent and rub with a brush. Wipe off the rest of the product with a damp cloth. Dry the carpet or let it dry naturally.
After cleaning the clothes with vinegar, they must be washed in a washing machine with a powder. If the thing cannot be washed, then ammonia is used. It is necessary to mix ammonia with water and soak clothes in this solution for half an hour. Then rinse the item in clean water and dry it outdoors.
You can use soda to neutralize the vinegar smell: make a thick soda solution and soak the thing in it for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse it thoroughly.
How to get rid of the vinegar smell in your shoes
It is easy to remove vinegar odor from some types of shoes by machine washing with the addition of powder. This method is suitable for flip-flops, slippers, some types of sneakers, suede shoes. It is necessary to wash these shoes in a typewriter in a gentle mode.
If this method is not suitable, ammonia is used. You need to apply the product to a rag and wipe the shoes with it from the top or from the inside. Then the shoes are ventilated for 24 hours, for example on the balcony.
You can also soak your shoes in a solution of ammonia: dilute 3 tbsp. l. ammonia in 5 liters of water. Soak for half an hour and rinse. Dry your shoes naturally.
This method is not suitable for products made from expensive and delicate materials.
