There are many reasons for the appearance of a heavy odor from the washing machine drum:
· After the end of the wash cycle, the door to the machine must not be closed immediately, the moisture must completely evaporate. This takes a lot of time, so the hatch should remain open for at least a couple of hours;
· The rubber cuff should be wiped after each wash, removing all the water remaining after the cycle. Often, in the absence of proper care, mold forms on its surface. If its spores penetrate deep into the rubber, then the cuff will need to be replaced;
· The drum of the washing machine should not be used as a storage for dirty things;
· Use of low-quality detergent – powder or conditioner. Particles that do not dissolve and adhere to the walls of the drum begin to smell very unpleasant over time;
· Contamination of the powder tray and fabric conditioner can also cause odors. To avoid trouble, you need to periodically – just once a month – thoroughly rinse the tray, cleaning its walls;
· If the drain filter is dirty, a very specific odor can also be generated. It is in the drain filter that all the debris is retained, which should not enter the sewer. If you do not clean it regularly, then all the accumulated debris will begin to rot. Hence the appearance of an unpleasant odor;
· Sometimes water remains in the car, which eventually fizzles out and gives an eerie “aroma”. The reason is the incorrect connection of the device to the sewage system, or there are problems with the operation of the drain pump;
· The machine may start to “smell” due to a broken drain hose. To make sure that this is exactly the reason, you need to start the wash in boiling mode without laundry. If the problem persists, the hose will need to be replaced.
Proper care of your washing machine is the key to its long and trouble-free service. That is why you should not neglect the recommendations for the care of the unit.
