How to get rid of the Paste Options pop-up menu in Word 2013

When you copy text from one place to another, Word displays a Paste Options pop-up menu right next to the paste location. This tool lets you choose how you want to format pasted text. For example, by inserting text, you can:

  • Keep original formatting, i.e. leave the formatting that was in the original text.
  • Merge Formatting, i.e. change the formatting of the pasted text to the formatting of the current document.
  • Keep text only, i.e. remove all formatting of pasted text.

The difference in the options offered by the Paste Options menu may depend on the source from which the text was copied. You can customize the default paste options yourself.

If the Paste Options pop-up menu distracts you, you can easily turn it off. To do this, open the tab Fillet (File).
