When you copy text from one place to another, Word displays a Paste Options pop-up menu right next to the paste location. This tool lets you choose how you want to format pasted text. For example, by inserting text, you can:
- Keep original formatting, i.e. leave the formatting that was in the original text.
- Merge Formatting, i.e. change the formatting of the pasted text to the formatting of the current document.
- Keep text only, i.e. remove all formatting of pasted text.
The difference in the options offered by the Paste Options menu may depend on the source from which the text was copied. You can customize the default paste options yourself.
If the Paste Options pop-up menu distracts you, you can easily turn it off. To do this, open the tab Fillet (File).
Click on Options (Settings) in the list on the left.
In the dialog box Word Options (Word Options) tab Advanced (Additionally).
Scroll down to the section Cut, copy, and paste (Cut, copy and paste) and uncheck the option Show Paste Options button when content is pasted (Show paste options buttons when pasting content).
Press OKto confirm changes and close the dialog Word Options (Word Options).
You have disabled the Paste Options pop-up menu. Now you can open it by clicking on the bottom half of the button paste (Insert) tab Home (Home).
If you still do not want to completely disable the Paste Options pop-up menu, close it by pressing the key Esc.
In Excel and PowerPoint, you can remove this pop-up menu in the same way.
