How to get rid of stress

Do not have time for anything, burn at work and are about to explode? Learning to extinguish an internal fire. Our consultant is a psychologist, a permanent expert of the show “Let them talk” Anetta Orlova.

Stress caught off guard in the middle of a working day, are you about to throw a scandal? Start slowly looking around the room you are in, stop at every object, even the smallest thing, and count them. With this simple technique, you “tire” nervous excitement. If you get lost, start counting again. The main thing is not to rush. Stress is acceleration, and it can only be extinguished by slowing down, reducing the intensity of passions.

In any nervous situation, when you need to find the strength to hold your tongue, grab a pen and paper. Draw. It doesn’t matter what – a portrait, circles or squares. Just start releasing emotions from the unconscious to the conscious. If you notice that you started drawing very slowly, you can stop. You have calmed down.

If you have watched Indian films, then you must have noticed how many intricate movements the dancers make with their fingers. Why suddenly? Quite simply, our palms and fingers are conductors that are closely connected with the central nervous system. The right touch can raise your mood, calm you down, and give you strength. To relieve anxiety, to drive away an attack of panic, press on the center of the palm with your thumb. Breathe deeply and continue pressing for 5-10 seconds.

The chin is an area where stress is concentrated. When we get angry, we instinctively start clenching our jaws. Do you want to regain your good mood and not flare up? Let go of your anger. Open your mouth slightly and slowly turn your head to the right, then to the left, lower it forward and press your chin to your chest. Do 10 reps.

Any synchronous movements inhibit nervous processes. That is why knitting is so nerve-calming. If it is not possible to carry knitting needles and yarn with you, then make it a rule to put chewing gum in your bag. When you feel that your nerves are at the limit, chew. It’s not for nothing that little children stop crying when they are given a pacifier. The sucking and chewing movements help to relax.

If you have no peace even at home and you feel that you are about to break out on loved ones, move to a calm zone. When you come home from work, watch not the news, but cartoons or your favorite fairy tale. Children’s world is a world of carefree happiness. Dive into it.

Dancing, like sports, stimulates the production of endorphins – hormones of pleasure. It’s also a way of expressing yourself. Feel like you’re on the edge? Turn on your favorite music and jump to it, throw out everything that has accumulated. Are you angry, offended? Then don’t just jump, but stomp with force, as if you are defending yourself.

Turn on slightly cool water, step in the shower and close your eyes. Let the water flow from head to toe, and while it flows, speak out. Tell the water about everything that worries you, and imagine how everything bad goes away with the drops, problems and resentments are washed away.

Occupational therapy is a great way to get rid of bad emotions. Is there something annoying you? Arrange cleaning at home or workplace. Treat unnecessary things, old papers, candy wrappers and other cluttering little things as obstacles to be overcome – throw them out mercilessly. Introduce your problem and put it in the trash can.
