How to get rid of clutter at home: tips

1. Use storage systems

It is not only generally available, but also very convenient. The only thing is to choose open storage systems – this way your things will be constantly in sight, and you will have to keep them in order (you do not want to be known as a slob among friends and family). But as soon as things get into a closed wardrobe or chest of drawers, then with a high degree of probability they will remain there. You simply will not have the desire to constantly sort through old stuff and get rid of unnecessary things. Why, because no one sees what is stored there on closed shelves.

2. Buy a limited number of containers

For each category of things (souvenirs, postcards, important documents), select a separate container. But! As soon as the space is full, it will be a sign to you that you need to sort things out and throw something away. And in any case, do not give in to the temptation to run for a new container.

3. Avoid monotony

Let’s say this pink blouse fits you really well. But what if you take the same, but purple? And green too? But are you really sure that you need this one thing in different shades?

4. Do not pack your things under any circumstances.

Buy something only if you really need it (cosmetics, clothing, accessory). But don’t buy something just because you “need to finish the collection.” So, for example, many have a collection of nail polishes that they do not use, lipsticks, decorative cosmetics, ten T-shirts of the same type (but there the stitch and buttons are different!) And other, in fact, unnecessary trinkets.

5. Do not accept “free” gifts in the load

Very often, stores try to foist some kind of bonus on our purchase. Buy a TV, we will give you a shelf as a gift. Or a screwdriver. Does not matter. Or a two-for-one promotion? Take one thing and the other will be free for you. Think, do you really need it? And will the acquisition be so profitable?

6. Don’t go shopping with a large cart

When you have an empty cart in front of your eyes, you immediately want to fill it, and subconsciously you start taking goods that, in principle, you did not even plan to purchase initially. Therefore, make your choice consciously and take only what you need at this particular time.

7. Do not be fooled by the “Sale” sign

Never buy something on sale if you don’t need it right now. In addition, not always during such promotions there is a really profitable discount.

8. Remember that shopping is not a sport.

As experts say, buying for the sake of buying always leads to the fact that unnecessary things appear in your house that you, in fact, do not use. But what about the claim that shopping is therapy? There is another way to relax and relieve stress. You don’t have to go to the store and spend your last savings on something that you don’t need.

9. Analyze your purchases

It is sometimes very helpful to keep a special record of what you buy. It is not necessary for this to start a granary book and enter every ruble spent there. Today, there are many quite convenient applications that allow you to take into account income, expenses and the fact … that last month you already bought those red shoes, so we carefully put this pair in place.

10. Make a shopping list

Before heading to the store, make a list of the items you need first. And on the spot already strictly follow this list. So you will save yourself from unnecessary acquisitions and unnecessary expenses. And what? It is quite possible to save up for a vacation.

11. Refuse unnecessary

Do not accept items or gifts from friends / colleagues / family unless you really need them. Otherwise, fearing of offending a person, you will take the XNUMXth T-shirt, which will ruthlessly go to the shelf and, at best, will be taken out when you run out of clean home clothes, or another souvenir from the trip, which will gather dust on the shelf and litter the room.

12. Be picky

Be picky about the products offered to you. You should always know what is at your home and what else you need to take. Periodically arrange an audit of household items and get rid of what has become unusable or simply no longer relevant.

13. Know how to say “no!”

If you are going anywhere, be able to resist advertising slogans that offer you to buy another new product. Just ask yourself if you really need it. What happens if you don’t buy it? And, after all, you have lived without this thing before.

14. Develop certain habits

Returning to the previous point, it is necessary to add that you should not give in to the impulse and run immediately to check out the goods at the checkout. Try it on, take a closer look, put it aside and take a walk. During these manipulations, think about whether you already have such (or a similar) thing at home, whether you really need this product so much, how you will use this purchase and whether the new product will be combined with other items (wardrobe, interior). Perhaps, by honestly answering these questions, you will understand that, in general, you do not really need this next purchase.
