If berry crops have become infected, they should be sprayed before the flowering period and after the harvesting process. And if aphids attacked fruit trees, then they need to be treated with means during the budding period, which will fall for a while immediately after flowering, and two to three weeks before harvesting the finished fruits.
Although folk recipes for infusions and decoctions are not chemicals, they are still dangerous not only for aphids that you want to get rid of. Some may adversely affect other harmless insects or birds, and may also cause burns to the plant. Others contain substances that are harmful to people. Such drugs should be used very carefully, in moderation, mainly following the instructions and the recipe. For example, after you have treated the affected plant with infusions of tomato, tobacco, black henbane or potatoes, they should not be eaten until ten days have passed.
In the fight against aphids, other garden plants will also help get rid of it. Flowers such as nasturtium, petunia, mallow, cleoma or begonia act in this way: they attract all the aphids to themselves with their aromas, thereby distracting them from the main culture. They can be planted at a sufficient distance from the main plant that you want to protect. Another category of plants, which include onions, garlic, coriander, mint, marigolds or fennel, on the contrary, repel aphids with their sharp aromas and smells. They can be planted between rows or along the edges of the beds.
Decoction recipes
Making decoctions to fight aphids is one of the most common and effective ways. The following methods and decoction recipes are very effective and do not harm the health of other plants.
- tobacco is often used to control aphids on plants, in order to rid the trees of a harmful insect. In order to prepare a decoction, you need to take about ten grams of tobacco, after grinding it, and add it to a container with five liters of water. Such a solution must be insisted for a day. The next day, add another five liters of water and simmer over low heat for two hours. Such a solution must be sprayed onto the affected areas of the trunk and crown of the tree;
- tomatoes. More precisely, only tops from tomatoes will be used. For the desired effect, take about five kilograms of tomato leaves and add them to a container with ten liters of water. All this must be boiled so that the tops of tomatoes give their juice. It will be enough to hold the solution for half an hour on low heat. But it still needs to be diluted with water before spraying. The percentage should be one (decoction) to three (water);
- pepper. To prepare this decoction, you will need one hundred to two hundred grams of fresh pods from red hot peppers. They should be mixed with one liter of water. In this form, let the broth brew for a couple of days. After that, the solution must be filtered and used. But first it must be diluted with water in proportions of one to ten and add fifty grams of laundry soap;
- celandine. To prepare such a decoction, take half a kilogram of fresh flowers and celandine stems and pour a liter of water. If you take dry celandine, the proportions should be halved. This decoction should be infused for one or two days. After that, you should boil it a little and use it.
Other plants such as wormwood, rhubarb will help you cope with the pest no less effectively.

- dandelion. For four hundred grams of dandelion leaves, you need to use ten liters of water. You can also add about two hundred grams of flowering dandelion roots for a greater effect. All this is required to insist for three to four hours and begin to get rid of aphids.
How to get rid of aphids on roses
Beautiful flowers are especially often attacked by aphids. Therefore, gardeners have developed many folk remedies to combat aphids on roses. Among them, first of all, a soap solution is isolated, which does not remain after on roses.
It is suitable not only for aphids, but also for other pests on roses and other plants. You just need to make a not very concentrated soap solution and treat the rose garden with it.
