How to get enough sleep, how to overcome insomnia, a book by Cameron Diaz review

Read on for tips from the actress on how to get ready for bed and get enough sleep. Even if you have less than six hours left before waking up …

Cameron Diaz admits that the last 25 years of his life has been in constant flux. She changes time zones almost every week, and she sleeps more often in hotel rooms than in her own bedroom. At the same time, in each city her days are scheduled by the minute: interviews, shootings for magazines, communication with fans, meeting with producers, etc. At the same time, the actress always manages to look great and literally shine from the inside. How is this possible, the star told in “The Book of the Body.”

“I can wake up in Los Angeles and then go to Sydney, where the local time is 19 hours ahead of Los Angeles. But I still have to get up at five or six in the morning, which means that I have to sleep well, and I need to fall asleep no matter what time it is in Los Angeles, ”says the celebrity. And then she shares her bedtime rituals that help her fall asleep, no matter what happens to her, wherever she is.

1. Start by preparing for the next day.

Pack your lunch box, take your workout clothes out of the closet, or pack your gym bag, and then tune your body to rest.

2. Close yourself off from the outside world.

Draw curtains or blinds. Turn off your TV, computer, phones.

3. Start an alarm.

Do this in advance, otherwise you will not be able to sleep well. I have friends who toss and turn all night because they can’t remember whether they set the alarm or not. Have you ever jumped up in the middle of the night thinking that you overslept? It is impossible to fall asleep again after this … Make setting the alarm clock part of the ritual and do not think about it anymore.

4. Prepare your bed.

Ideally, in the morning you make your bed, and for you this is a resting place, not a warehouse of dirty clothes … The bed should be your sanctuary, refuge, serve only the most pleasant.

5. Brush your teeth.

This is another part of the ritual that suggests that the work day is over. Only after brushing your teeth, do not run to the kitchen for a snack. The purpose of brushing your teeth is not to leave a crumb in your mouth at night. Bacteria are greedy for food, so you do not need to feed them, so that later they will not be left with bad teeth.

6. Wash your face.

Take the time before bedtime to take care of your skin. Clean it thoroughly, blot with a tissue, apply moisturizer. The minutes spent in front of the mirror have a beneficial effect on the nervous system. Look at yourself and say: “You are great today! I did a good job, did my best ”. Or: “Tomorrow we will definitely succeed! I have no doubt!”

7. Take a shower.

I always take a shower before getting into bed; so I wash off the remnants of my day. Sweat and dirt from taxi rides and flights, cinemas and shops, cleaning up dog excrement … When I go to bed, I want to be alone with myself, not with the whole world. Shower is an integral part of my ritual; a minute under hot water is enough to relax the muscles. I like to put some moisturizer on my body, usually with lavender, it has a great soothing effect.

8. Go to bed!

Yes, turn off all the lights, do not check what is shown on TV or who is still on Facebook (remember how shortwave light affects the production of melanin).
