The well-coordinated work of nodes and mechanisms can be disturbed by a bone from a bra in a washing machine. Sometimes this is accompanied by a complete blockage of the operation of the equipment or an incomprehensible noise and breakdown of individual elements of the AGR. No matter how hard you try, a foreign object still entered the tank. How to fix it?
What is dangerous part of women’s underwear?
The danger lies in the material of manufacture of the part. A bra bone is often made of coated metal, so if it gets inside the machine, it can rust and contaminate the linen. If part of the part sticks out of the opening of the drum, then with fast rotations it will easily tear the laundry. And that’s what compared to the upcoming repairs. Here’s what happens if the hardware gets in:
- To the tank. The sharp part can pierce its wall, which will end in a serious and expensive repair.
- In TEN. Clinging to the heating element, the part will damage or tear off the heating element.
- In the rubber seal of the hatch. A damaged cuff will lead to leakage and repair of not only appliances, but also the kitchen.
Finally, the item in the drum can easily block the rotation, so until you get the item, washing will not be possible.
How to pull out an iron bone?
If after washing you notice that there is not enough bone in the bra, first of all inspect the walls of the drum. Also, a foreign object creates extraneous noise during rotation: clanging and grinding.
Shine a flashlight into the opening of the hatch, carefully inspecting the cells of the drum and running your hand over the surface. You will be lucky if the part can be removed in such a simple way. After that, check the cuff for integrity.
If the bone has fallen deeper, you will have to disassemble the equipment. Below are a few options that will help you cope with the task on your own.
We take out the heating element
This option will tell you how to remove an item from a front-loading SMA. Ideal for models where the heater is located behind the rear panel.
If, nevertheless, an element of underwear got into the tank, then you can get it through the mounting hole of the heating element. Of course, to do this, you need to remove the heating element, and here’s how to do it:
- Disconnect the washer from the power supply, close the inlet valve.
- Prepare a bucket for water and disconnect the communications from the SMA body (the bucket will be needed when water flows from the hoses).
- Unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the rear panel, remove it to the side.
- Below you will see the conclusions of the heating element.
- Take a picture of the wires to connect them in the correct order.
- Disconnect the wiring from the heater contacts one by one.
- Unscrew the center nut and push the bolt inward.
- Pry the heating element with a screwdriver, remove it from the socket.
Did the bone get into the spiral of the element? Then you can get it with him. Carefully check the heating element for damage, even scratches and small cracks indicate that the heater needs replacement.
Shine a flashlight into the mounting hole and try to reach the part with a thin wire. Often, several items of clothing are found at the bottom of the tank at once. After that, install the heating element in its original place. When using an old heater, change the sealing rubber, which is damaged during dismantling.
Here’s how the repair was done in the workshop:
Attention! After dismantling, check that the machine is not leaking by running a test wash.
Cleaning the drain pipe
Why do you need to remove the drain pipe? There are two reasons for this:
- Retrieve the item.
- The heating element is located behind the front panel and it is easier to remove the pipe.
Indeed, disassembling the front wall takes a lot of time and effort. But you can get to the nozzle through the bottom or back wall in the washer (for example, in models Bosch).
How to get a bone:
- Turn the CMA body on its side (lay a blanket in advance so as not to damage the coating).
- If the machine has a bottom, remove it. The bottom is fastened with bolts or latches.
- A black pipe leads from the tank to the pump. To open the metal clamp, unscrew the fixing bolt.
- Now use the pliers to open the clamp.
- Disconnect and clean the tube.
- If the bone does not fall out, then look into the landing hole and remove the stuck object from there.
Is your machine equipped with full protection against leaks? Then it will be problematic to remove the bottom, because you will have to disconnect the sensor wiring. It is easier to get to the pipe through the back wall. How to remove it is described above.
We take out the item from the tank
It also happens that the part is stuck not from below, but from the side or top of the tank. Then it is not possible to get it without disassembling the tank. This process takes place in different ways in washing machines from different manufacturers. For example, in a typewriterAriston» The tank is not collapsible and will have to be cut into two parts. And it is unlikely that anyone will want to completely disassemble the equipment for the sake of removing the bone.
There is only one way out – to make sure that the part is at the bottom of the tank, and get it in the first or second way. Act:
- Remove the rear panel by unscrewing the screws around the perimeter (sometimes you need to remove the top cover).
- Remove the drive belt from the tank pulley and motor.
- Fix the pulley so that it does not rotate, unscrew the central bolt. Remove the wheel.
- Tap the drum shaft lightly with a rubber mallet.
- When the shaft moves a little, turn the drum by hand.
- You should hear the sound of a rolling bone.
As soon as it is at the bottom, remove it through the outlet of the heater or pipe. Put the pulley and drive belt back in place.
We clean the drain system
Plastic fittings break easily when the drum rotates, so it may get stuck in the drain filter or pump. The latter often leads to a breakdown of the pump and blocking work. Start your test with a filter that keeps debris out of your pump. Depending on the CMA model, it is located behind a solid or small plinth panel.
What to do:
- Prepare a water container.
- Open the plinth panel. Most often it is attached to the latches.
- Unscrew the filter plug.
- Clear out debris.
Cleaning the drain filter is shown in the video:
Also check the mounting hole for debris. If the bone is not found, you will have to move on. Next in line is the drain pipe. How to check it is described above. We move to the pump. The element could block the rotation of the impeller, so the machine does not drain the water.
To determine where the node is, look at the instructions. In many models Ardo, Eyelid, Samsung, Candy Yes it is possible to get the pump through the bottom. For “Electrolux“and Zanussi you have to remove the back. A more difficult path lies ahead for the owners Bosch, Siemens and “AEG”, here it is necessary to dismantle the front panel. The previous disassembly methods have already been described, so we will tell you how to proceed in the latter case.
Progress:
- Remove the top cover.
- Pull out the powder dispenser.
- Unscrew the bolts on the control panel, release the latches and remove. Wiring can not be turned off.
- Open the door. Bend the cuff of the hatch and remove the metal clamp.
- Fill the rubber in the tank, unscrew the bolts of the door lock, disconnect the wires.
- Unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the panel, lift and remove from place.
Below you will see a pump with inlet hoses. Disconnect the unit from the power supply, unfasten the clamps of the hose and pipe. Unscrew the screws of the pump and, by scrolling, pull it out. Now look into the snail and the impeller of the assembly. It is good if the bone is found without causing serious harm to the pump. Carefully check all elements for damage, assemble the machine in reverse order.
How to get to the pump, the master shows:
It is bad when a foreign object interferes with the normal operation of the equipment. Therefore, cleaning must be done as soon as possible. Otherwise, the fittings will become overgrown with dirt, rust, which will lead to unpleasant odors and soiling of linen.
The bone is not the only thing that ends up in the car. Often, during repairs, masters find such items:
- Small debris and small things often end up in the cuff of the hatch. After each cycle, the rubber must be checked, cleaned, wiped with a dry cloth.
- Self-tapping screws and nails fall out of the drain pipe when cleaning. It is good if sharp objects did not pierce the part and did not lead to leakage.
- Plastic elements, buttons, coins are often found in the drainage filter. It is recommended to clean its grid at least twice a month.
- Small toys, matches and buttons get stuck in the pump and block the impeller.
- Pins and dowels slip through all obstacles and end up in the drain hose.
A small detail will not harm the washer? Maybe so, but there are times when an object damages the heating element, blocks the pump, breaks the nozzles and adds a hole in the tank. Therefore, you should not let things go by themselves. If possible, remove the foreign object as soon as possible.
