How to get a birth certificate of a child for a father, mother: mfc
At first glance, it seems that obtaining documents for a baby is a difficult and time-consuming procedure. But if you know in advance how to get a birth certificate of a child, then it will take much less time and effort.
What to bring to married parents
The family must obtain a birth certificate for the baby at the registry office.
Dad can get a birth certificate for a child while mom sits with a baby
For this you will need:
- medical certificate from the hospital;
- written request from parents in Form 1;
- dad and mom passport;
- marriage document.
Further, it is necessary to register the baby at the place of residence, take out insurance at the clinic and child benefits. To register, you will need a baby’s metric, a father’s and mother’s passport, a marriage certificate, copies of these documents, an extract from the personal account and house book.
According to the law, a family must apply for a birth certificate within a month after the birth of a baby. But if, for some reason, the parents do not meet the deadline, they will not face any penalties. You can come to registration a little later.
Some families receive a metric directly at the hospital, for this a representative of the registry office must be present there. And the baby’s father needs to bring passports and marriage documents to the maternity hospital.
How to issue a metric if the mother of the baby is not married
If the baby is born in a civil marriage, both parents need to come to the registry office. Birth registration occurs with the establishment of paternity. In this case, an act of establishing paternity must be added to the necessary documents.
Parents submit the following documents:
- their passports;
- medical certificate from the hospital;
- a written request in Form 1 on behalf of both parents;
- the act of established paternity.
You can bring the documents in person to the registry office at the place of registration or submit it through the MFC State Services.
If a woman is not married and the paternity of the baby is not officially established, she independently brings a written appeal. In this case, the list of documents includes:
- a written request from the mother in Form 2;
- medical certificate from the hospital;
- a written request to amend the father’s birth record;
- mom’s passport.
At the request of the woman, the data on the father of the child may not be entered in the birth certificate. Then she needs to submit to the registering authorities only a written application about the birth of a baby and her passport.
A metric certificate is issued on the day of contact, together with a certificate to the social security for registration of benefits for the baby.
If in your city you can submit documents electronically through the State Services to obtain a metric for a baby, this will minimize the effort spent.
