How to deal with asociality?

Hello. I am 24 years old and have a serious, growing problem. For some time (I am not able to tell from when, from what moment) I start to feel a lot of discomfort when I am in a larger group of people. I don’t know how to describe it, but people are starting to bother me, I don’t feel like being around strangers, but I’m also starting to feel bad among those I know?

It happens more and more often that I have a resistance to settle matters in an office or even a bank, I start to lock myself at home, I feel safe there. It worries me, I am starting to be antisocial, I do not know what it comes from, because nothing traumatic has happened to me. How to fight anti-socialism? I can’t break, but I want to change it. Should he see a specialist? Is therapy possible in the case of asociality?

I am reluctant to sign up for a psychiatrist because for me it is an admission of my weakness. Is this really asocial? I am asking for an honest answer, I care about tips on the topic of asociality.

The doctor explains what antisocialism is and how to fight it

Aspociality is defined as non-participation in social life. The symptoms presented by you indicate rather withdrawal from social life. There can be many reasons for this. These symptoms occur in anxiety disorders. A specific form of fear of negative evaluation in social contacts is social phobia.

Its characteristic feature is the feeling of anxiety associated with the presence of other people, fear of participating in discussions, telling a joke, and speaking in public, leading to avoidance of such situations. It manifests itself by redness of the face, intense sweating, trembling hands, trembling voice, difficulties in expressing oneself. The onset of social phobia is fostered by anxiety and dependent personality disorders. Treatment of social phobia includes pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy.

Cognitive behavioral therapy brings the best results. Anxiety is a hallmark of many diseases. It occurs, inter alia, in cardiological diseases or in hormonal disorders. It may be due to addiction to psychoactive substances. Anxiety disorders may have an emotional background, they may be associated with the occurrence of a traumatic event, e.g. in childhood. In order to be able to treat anxiety disorders, you need to find the cause of their occurrence.

Despite the meager interview, I can also suspect you depressive disorder. Loss of interest and cessation of activities that have so far been a source of pleasure occur, among others, in depressive disorders. A patient suffering from depression functions less well in his personal, family and social life.

Of course, in order to make a diagnosis, much more intelligence information is needed, which I do not have at the moment. I recommend visiting a psychiatric specialist who will diagnose and treat your case.

Please remember that mental disorders are not a sign of any weakness and you should not be afraid of visiting a psychiatrist. Often, underestimating the symptoms has serious health consequences in the future.
