How to fast and fast

During Lent, you can eat vegetables, fruits, canned food, cereals, legumes, nuts, dried fruits, sweets, and on some days fish with seafood. In drinks, the limitation is milk. You can not eat meat products, eggs, dairy products, alcohol. On special days, even vegetable oil and warm food are excluded.

The most obvious mistake that people make during fasting is eating habitually, except for prohibited foods – protein sources in the first place. There are heavy carbohydrate side dishes and very few vegetables and fruits – not in season. Such eating for 7 weeks is too tiring, breakdowns may occur, or weight is rapidly gaining.

It is worth remembering plant sources of protein and urgently introduce them into your diet. And also try to unload meals with a large amount of vegetable fiber – vegetables.

pulse

Legumes hold the record for protein content, and the selection of them on store shelves is very large: yellow peas, white beans, lentils, chickpeas, mung bean, dolichos, adzuki, green beans and asparagus, peanuts.

Porridge and bread

The protein found in legumes has an imperfect structure – it lacks a number of amino acids. Therefore, during the fast, you should definitely eat cereals that also contain protein: buckwheat, oatmeal, pearl barley, barley, wheat, millet, corn, rice, bulgur, couscous, quinwa, brown, black, wild and all kinds of other rice. With so much variety, fasting will go unnoticed. Choose bran or rye bread, whole-grain pasta.

Mushrooms and vegetables

Mushroom is another protein source, but a heavy enough ingredient to digest. Avoid pickled mushrooms – they contain vinegar, which is not very good for your digestion.

Vegetables

They also contain a small amount of protein, but their main task is to provide you with fiber, vitamins and minerals. At the same time, give preference not to fresh vegetables, but a little fried in vegetable oil – so vitamins A and E contained in them will be absorbed as much as possible.

Fats

You should also not deprive yourself of fat during fasting, you just need to eat foods that contain the right vegetable fats. Nuts, seeds, avocados, coconut, olives and olives.
