Fasting implies not only restriction in food, but also spiritual cleansing, prayers, repentance, forgiveness, abstaining from fun, refusal from foul language, bad thoughts and bad habits.
Fasting is not a weight loss diet. Sick people, pregnant and lactating women, as well as children are allowed to relax the fast. Before starting the fast, it is advisable to consult with your doctor and coordinate your diet with the priest.
