How to easily peel a pomegranate: video
It’s so delicious, so healthy. But I wish I could still be able to clean it without splashing from head to toe with tart scarlet juice.
To begin with, we are looking for a stalk. Cut off the lower part of the fruit so that the grains become visible. The most common kitchen knife is suitable for this, as long as it is sharp enough. You will see that the inner cavity of the pomegranate is divided into several parts by white or cream-colored membranes. Make short incisions where these webbing meet the skin.
After that, you just have to turn the pomegranate over the bowl and knock with the handle of a knife or spoon on its top. No big effort is required: ripe pomegranate seeds are easily separated. Place the beans in a nice cup before serving. A pomegranate in crystal dishes will become a worthy decoration of the most elegant table.
It is necessary to extract grains in this way very carefully. It is advisable to take a deep bowl so that the juice does not splash in all directions.
Cut the lower part of the fruit in the same way as in the first case. Make cuts, then dip the fruit in a saucepan of clean water. The juice will immediately dissolve, and the grains will sink to the bottom. You just have to carefully drain the water.
Do not rinse the grains with tap water, as it may be chlorinated. Bottled is more suitable. If you don’t have one at hand, run your tap water through a filter. This is best done through clean cheesecloth or a very fine sieve. The peel can be taken out and dried, it can help you a lot with various intestinal disorders. If necessary, you can quickly prepare a healing broth from it. And the grains can be eaten immediately.
First, carefully cut the peel, as if trying to remove the cap from the pomegranate. Remove the upper part of the skin. cut the pomegranate along the white membranes. Then we gently squeeze in the palms and separate the pomegranate into parts – the fruit will easily divide into slices along the incisions. You just have to remove the white core.
In this case, the cuts should be slightly deeper than when cleaning with the previous two methods.
The kernels can be placed in a cup or eaten directly from the rind. For a festive feast, of course, the first option is preferable, and if you are at a picnic, the second method is also suitable.
