When we lack something, we tend to get upset. However, in such a state of mind, it is extremely difficult to achieve the desired, Taoist sages are sure. What do they think is the secret to abundance?
Do you know the expression “money makes money”? The more money a person has, the more actively they multiply with him. Exactly the same situation, according to the Taoists, is with our energy: the more strength a person has, the easier it is for him to accumulate them, increase their volume, and therefore develop and earn more.
Don’t say “I don’t have money”
The Chinese don’t usually say, “I don’t have it.” He says, “I have quite a bit of it.” See the difference? Each of us has a certain basis – financial and energy. Even if there is a living wage left before the salary, and the salary is in a week, you can say with confidence: “I have some money.” What does it change? Our condition!
So we switch from a state in which there is nothing at all, to a state in which there is a certain supply of health, energy, finances. And you can rely on these resources, and then plan for improvements. In addition, as a rule, we have much more resources than we think.
As a qigong teacher, I work with people who need to solve a variety of health problems: hernias that cause pinching, sciatica, acute back pain and chronic diseases.
And a big part of the recovery work is for them to discover that despite some pathologies, they are not completely sick. Because until you see yourself as a resource, you have nothing to develop, nothing to rejoice at, nothing to increase. How can you find that potential abundance in yourself?
Take stock
Every December, for the most part, we sum up the results. I ask my students to write down at least one hundred of their achievements in a year! It is necessary to fix just such a quantity, although at first glance it seems huge. After all, we know how to devalue ourselves, and therefore we can simply not notice our achievements.
For example, for a depressed person to get out of bed and wash their hair is already an objectively major achievement. It shows that step by step this person regains control over his life and psychological health. Not a single clinical depression went away in one day, and therefore it is necessary to mark each milestone on the path of improvement in order to see that you are on the right track.
Therefore, when taking on a new business, ask yourself at the start: what do you already have? Support of loved ones, knowledge and experience accumulated over a lifetime, strong character traits. This is your launching pad from which you start a new project.
Plan ahead and reward yourself
We like to set big goals for ourselves – the more ambitious they are, the more interesting. Dreaming big is a wonderful skill, it is essential. However, it has only one drawback: a large-scale goal cannot be achieved quickly. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
Therefore, the path to it must be divided into small, visible segments. Otherwise, you risk giving up quickly. As you break down your goal into tasks, be sure to think through and document in your plan how you will reward yourself for milestone accomplishments.
Let’s take qigong as an example: the goal of a person who starts practicing it is to restore health, bring it to a new level, make the body strong and flexible. When will it happen? Definitely not in a week! And if there are serious violations in the work of the spine, a year may pass until complete freedom of movement. How to motivate yourself? Celebrate every time you’ve made some improvement!
Practice gratitude
The famous practice of writing down thanks in the evenings just works wonders – checked! By expressing gratitude for the work done to ourselves, as well as to all those who helped us along the way, we learn to see how much we already have.
After all, in fact, we already have a lot of abundance: we have housing, we use phones, we drink delicious drinks from beautiful cups, we meet friends who wish us well.
As long as these factors are taken for granted, they do not form our personal abundance – therefore, it is important to appropriate them, recognize them, make them our own. Then the further movement towards an abundant future will be easier, faster and more joyful.
