Toasted sunflower or pumpkin seeds are delicious. In addition, they contain many useful elements. Below we will talk about how to dry seeds correctly so that you have them always at hand and pamper yourself at any time.

It is necessary to thoroughly rinse them in a colander under running water to get rid of debris and dust. Then you should blot the seeds with a napkin to remove moisture.

Drying the product is easy – just put a tray of seeds spread out in a thin layer on the balcony in direct sunlight and stir them periodically. After about 4 hours they will be ready for storage.

You can spread the seeds on a baking sheet in one layer and put in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes. Or place the product in the microwave at high power and heat for 20-25 minutes.

True, in this case, the seeds will not only dry out, but will also be fried. If you prefer to cook them in a frying pan, then dry either outdoors or in an electric dryer – put the product in bowls and heat at a minimum temperature for about an hour. The seeds can then be poured into storage containers and roasted as needed.

To get salted seeds, use one of the following methods:

  • sprinkle them with salt during cooking and stir;
  • soak the seeds in a saline solution – 500 g of salt per liter of water. Time: 6 to 36 hours depending on the desired salinity.

In the second way, salted kernels are obtained, and not just the shell.

To get pumpkin seeds, you need to carefully cut off the top of the vegetable, cut the core, being careful not to damage the seeds. After that, they are removed from the pulp and washed thoroughly until the sticky effect disappears.

Drying is done in the following ways:

  • electric dryer: only on medium bowls, for an hour, at 80 degrees;
  • oven: on a baking sheet in a thin layer, 20-30 minutes, at 70-80 degrees, if the seeds are large, add heat to 100 degrees;
  • airfryer: on a special grid, about half an hour at 60-65 degrees;
  • microwave: in a special container for about 20 minutes, 600 watts;
  • open air: in a thin layer on a tray, about 5 hours in the sun.

After drying, the seeds can be fried in a pan in the required amount, sprinkled with salt to taste.
