For a proper French style home manicure, you will need:

Shape your nails with tweezers and a coarse file. French manicure looks best on nails of moderate length, square or oval. Align the length of the nails, it should be the same on all fingers.
Remove any burrs and file the skin around the nails with a special file, it will smooth out the keratinized areas. Apply liquid or gel with fruit acids to the cuticle. Wait 30-60 seconds and push back the softened cuticle with an orange tree stick. Peel off dead skin. If the cuticle is too large, the excess can be cut off with sharpened nail scissors.
If the surface of the nails is uneven, polish the plates with a special bar. This procedure is indicated for rough, wavy nails, but is completely unsuitable for fragile and brittle nails. When finished filing, cover your nails with a layer of protective base, it will extend the life of the manicure and protect the plates from yellowing.
If the nails are yellowish, apply two coats of a protective base – this will even out the color of the plates.
To make your manicure look perfect, you need to purchase:
- pastel varnish
- white dense enamel for the tips of the nails
- top cover
- paper stencils
- rhinestones or pearls for decoration
Find polishes for your French manicure. Focus on the shade of your own skin and nails. If the skin of the hands is yellowish, pair with the white nail polish for the ends, choose a cream or light beige enamel. For skin with a reddish undertone, light pink varnishes are suitable.
For an even drawing of the “smile” line, use semicircular stencils-stripes. They can be bought ready-made or cut from paper tape. Glue the stencils so that the tip of the nail remains free. Paint over the ends with dense white enamel, it is best to use a special French manicure varnish.
Peel off the paper strips and dry the varnish. Cover the entire surface of the plates with a translucent, pastel-colored base enamel. For a more contrasting manicure, paint your nails in one layer. Double application will make the shade transition smoother.
