How to disassemble the dishwasher with your own hands

How to disassemble the dishwasher if it is broken? In the article we will tell you how to independently disassemble the machine, inspect the nodes and not break anything during the work.

Common PMM malfunctions

It is unlikely that anyone wants to just delve into complex technology. Disassembling a Bosch, Candy, Siemens dishwasher may be needed to find and fix a breakdown. To make it easier for you to navigate, consider typical problems:

  1. Waste water is not drained. A common cause is clogging with food debris from dishes, small debris. First, the filter clogs, then the debris enters the drain pump. This may cause damage. To check the details, you need to remove the bottom of the PMM.
  2. There is no pressure. You need to check the pressure in the faucet. The installation may not have been done correctly.
  3. Water is not poured. The problem may be in the drain system. Everything needs to be checked step by step.
  4. The machine makes noise or hums. Fragments from broken dishes could fall into the drain, or the bearings of the pump or engine could be worn out.
  5. Leak. Hose connections are broken, the bunker is damaged, the Aquastop is broken. The equipment is subject to inspection.

Before starting disassembly, the machine must be properly prepared.

Preparing to work with a dishwasher

If you have a built-in dishwasher, disconnect the fasteners, turn off the communications and pull it out to a free space.

Do the same with the freestanding model. But the compact machine, which is located on the table, can not be pulled out. It is enough to put it in a comfortable position.

Take care of the tools:

  • crosshead screwdriver;
  • pliers;
  • awl.

To get the job done quickly and efficiently, it is important to understand the location of the parts in the housing. How is a dishwasher, you can read in a separate article. We recall the main components:

  • baskets for dishes;
  • top and bottom atomizer;
  • float sensor;
  • drain filter;
  • drain pump;
  • heater;
  • circulation block;
  • inlet valve;
  • control module;
  • additional heating element for drying.

Disassembly steps

After disconnecting the hoses from the housing, remove any remaining water from the chamber – it may remain in the sump. Open the door and remove all appliances from the chamber. At the same time, pull out the baskets and holders.

Do I need to take out the dishes immediately after washing? Wait 10 minutes for it to cool down.

The principle of disassembling dishwashers Electrolux, Beko and other brands is almost the same. Only a few details may differ.

  • Remove the decorative panel located under the door. To do this, unfasten the latches, unscrew the screws that hold the metal bar behind the panel. Remove the insulating layer. A disassembly diagram will help you.
  • Open the door. From the inside, unscrew the screws around the perimeter to remove the control panel, and then the board. Close the door and carefully remove the top panel, disconnecting the black wire as you go. Now you need to remove the command device and controller.
  • To remove the module, disconnect the wiring chips. It is advisable to take a picture of their location, so that later it would be easier to assemble.
  • If your model (Bosch, Siemens, Indesit, Ariston) has a drying system, it also needs to be disassembled. Unscrew the door from the bracket. Disconnect wiring. Disconnect the air duct, turn the internal damper counterclockwise and remove the detergent dispenser. See the picture below.
  • Time to take the door off. Remove the spring by pulling it up and removing the hook from the hole. Pull the door up and off the hinges.
  • Remove all sprayers inside the hopper. They can be from one to four pieces. To do this, just press their latches and remove them from the seat.
  • Unscrew the drain filter in the pan. There may be water behind it. Scoop it out with a sponge.
  • Loosen the screws around the filter seat. They fix the circulation block. Remove the pump flap by pulling it to the side and towards you. Examine the impeller.
  • For convenience, turn the PMM upside down or put it “on your back”. Now you can remove the tray.
  • Unscrew the fastening screws or unfasten the latches. Before opening the pan, disconnect the float sensor that is attached to it. Disconnect the sensor wiring, remove the bolt and remove the part.
  • A filling valve is also attached to the base. Remove it by unscrewing the fasteners.
  • Many parts are attached to the circulation pump. On the side you will find a drain pump. Unscrew the bolts and disconnect the latch. Turn the pump counterclockwise, set aside.
  • The flow heater is also included in the assembly. Pull out the heater and, depending on the model, the pressure switch.
