How to disassemble the Ariston washing machine with your own hands

If you decide to repair the Ariston washing machine with your own hands, you definitely need to know how to disassemble it.

We will provide you with step-by-step instructions, as well as tell you what tools you will need. There is nothing complicated in this repair, the main thing is the sequence of work and free space.

Preparation for repair

We do not give a XNUMX% guarantee that you will fix your washing machine. We give recommendations for disassembling the machine. Therefore, if you are determined to replace a failed part or find the cause of a breakdown, start preparing.

What tool is needed

You will need:

  1. Screwdrivers of different configurations: slotted (flat), cross, hex.
  2. Torx wrench set.
  3. Open-end wrenches 8 mm and 10 mm.
  4. Hammer and chisel.
  5. Passatizhi.
  6. Nippers.
  7. Hacksaw and blade for metal.

To disassemble the Ariston washing machine, you need to properly prepare:

  • Remove the plug from the socket, de-energizing the CMA.
  • Close the water shut-off valve.
  • Unscrew the inlet hose nut from the machine body. Since the back cover needs to be removed, it is better to remove the hose altogether.

Preparing the washer also consists in draining the remaining water. Therefore, prepare a container for collection in advance. When unscrewing, water may come out of the inlet hose.

  • Going to the front, find the drain filter. It is located at the bottom of the hull, behind the hatch. Open the sunroof by opening the latches. Unscrew the filter and drain the water. At the same time, clean the part of debris.
  • Move the machine away from the wall so that you can easily move around and remove parts.

This completes the preparation. It is possible to provide in advance a container for collecting bolts and self-tapping screws, of which there will be a lot.

Stages of work

On the one hand, disassembling the Ariston washing machine is quite simple, since there is no need to remove the front panel. On the other hand, the manufacturer has provided details and fasteners that are difficult to remove for a novice master.

We will deal with all issues in order.

Removing panels and covers

First of all, the top panel is removed, which is fastened with two screws.

To remove the top cover of the Ariston washing machine, they must be unscrewed from the back wall with a Phillips or Hex screwdriver. Then push the lid in the opposite direction from you, lift it up and set it aside.

Proceed to the back panel. To remove it, unscrew the bolts around the perimeter, remove the panel to the side. You have gained access to the motor and drum pulley.

It remains to remove the control panel. Sequence of work:

  • Pull out the detergent drawer. While pressing the latch in the center, pull the tray towards you and remove it from the case.
  • Unscrew the screws that are behind the tray and on the opposite side of the panel.
  • Use a flathead screwdriver to pry out the plastic tabs. Take a picture of the location of the wires on the panel or mark them with a marker.
  • The wiring can be disconnected and the panel removed to the side. Or you can hang it on a utility hook if you have one.

You will also need to remove the clamp from the cuff of the hatch so that you can get the tank. Having moved the seal, pry the clamp with a screwdriver and remove. Insert the cuff into the tank.

So, we are done with the panels. We move on.

Dismantling the parts in the back

Go back to the back wall of the CM. It is necessary to remove the drive belt by removing it from the pulley. To do this, pull it towards you, scroll the pulley.

Next steps:

  • Pay attention to the Hotpoint Ariston washing machine motor. It is located at the bottom, under the tank.
  • To remove the motor from the housing, disconnect the wiring leading to it.
  • Remove the bolts that hold the motor. In machines of this brand, the part is usually held by four bolts.
  • Rocking the engine back and forth, pull it out.

Take care of the wiring of the heating element.

It is not necessary to remove the heater from the mounting socket. In this case, the sealing rubber of the element cannot be restored. Therefore, it is enough to disconnect the terminals and wires leading to the heating element.

Time to remove the drain pump. If the engine could be reached through the rear hole, then the pump could not be removed in this way. You will have to turn the washer on the left side.

Note! If it is inconvenient for you to remove the motor through the service hatch at the back, you can also do this through the bottom.

  1. Unscrew the screws securing the bottom cover, if your model has one.
  2. Unscrew the screws that are located in the area of the drain filter on the front panel.
  3. Push the filter, it should fall out with the pump.
  4. Unclip the metal clamp on the drain pipe with pliers.
  5. Disconnect the hose from the pump.
  6. Remove the bolts holding the filter and pump.

Great! The pump is now in your hands. We proceed to further disassembly of the Ariston washing machine.

We remove the parts at the top

Go to the upper opening of the Ariston CMA, inspect all the elements of the machine. What else prevents you from pulling out the tank? That’s right, a noise filter and a pressure switch.

  • Unplug all wire connectors leading to the filter and pressure switch. Remove the pressure hose from the latter.
  • Unscrew the screws that fix the parts on the case. Get them out of the car.

Also disconnect the pressure switch hose from the tank body, otherwise it may break during dismantling. Often, manufacturers attach wiring to the tank using plastic clips. Snip them with wire cutters and move the wiring aside.

Difficulties in disassembly

Before you completely disassemble the Ariston washing machine, you need to remove the counterweights. In other brands of cars, there are no difficulties with their removal. But Ariston manufacturers equipped the counterweights with special mounts. To remove them, you will need a special key, as shown in the photo:

Attention! Do not try to break the fasteners with pliers and other tools. So you damage the fasteners, which cannot be restored.

If you managed to remove the counterweight – great! Start unscrewing the racks. Racks are mounted on plastic rods. You can pull them out only by pressing the latches that hold them in place. For this:

  • Arm yourself with a head, put it on the opposite side of the stem.
  • use pliers to pull the stem towards you, pulling it out of the socket. Remove the other stem in the same way.

Now the tank is held only on hanging hooks. To pull the drum out of the Ariston washing machine, lift it up, removing it from the hooks.

Another difficulty. If you need to get the drum out of the tank, you will have to cut it, because in these models it is non-separable.

Before cutting, you need to take care of the further assembly of the tank. To do this, make holes around the perimeter, into which you then screw the bolts. Also prepare glue or sealant.

  1. Take a hacksaw or a metal blade (whichever is more convenient for you). They are thinner, which will allow you to make a neat cut.
  2. Install the tank on edge. Start cutting from the side that is comfortable for you.
  3. After sawing the tank around the perimeter, remove the upper part.
  4. Flip the bottom half over. Tap the stem lightly with a hammer to knock out the drum.

If necessary, you can replace the bearings.

To reassemble the tank parts, put the drum back in place. Cover the edges of the halves with glue or sealant. Which tool is better to choose for sealing, we wrote in one of the articles.

It remains to fasten the two parts and tighten the screws. The assembly of the machine is carried out in the reverse order.
