Hello dear readers! Scientists believe that the possibilities of the brain are unlimited, but we use our potential only 0,01% out of 100.
At the moment, there is no exact algorithm and instructions on how to use hidden resources in the work. But still, we will try to explore some of the ways that will contribute to your development and increase in IQ.
Amazing stories
The human brain consists of two hemispheres, which are interconnected to transmit information by the corpus callosum. The left hemisphere is responsible for logical thinking, and the right — for creative, imaginative.
And usually, if there is a violation with one of them, as a rule, the second also loses the ability to function normally.
But the stories that you will get acquainted with today prove that a person really has unlimited possibilities. Moreover, the mystery of everyone who has shown unique skills and abilities has not yet been solved.
It so happened that the surviving hemisphere took over the functions of the one that had to be removed. And the person could continue to live fully, without experiencing any difficulties in communication, work, and so on.
tragic situations
In 1887, in Massachusetts, Finis Gage, while laying new railroad lines, was hit by an explosion. At that ill-fated moment, he had a crowbar in his hands, with which he rammed gunpowder. This crowbar pierced through Finis’s skull. He entered the lower jaw, and left already from the back of the head.
Despite the terrible injury, and from the blow he even got his eye out of the socket, the victim did not lose consciousness for a second. Moreover, he independently climbed into the wagon and, having reached the hospital, refused the stretcher, going on his own feet into the doctor’s office.
The specialists had a hard time, they removed the crowbar, the eye, most of the brain and even parts of the skull, which were crushed. It could be assumed that he did not live long afterwards. But it was not there.
This situation practically did not affect the health of Finenis, and especially his mental abilities. The only thing that bothered him was the loss of an eye.
In the 1950s in Germany, one patient had to have his right hemisphere removed due to a tumor. Fully. And instead of turning into a person with disabilities, both mentally and physically, he continued to live as if nothing unusual had happened to him.
Lack of sleep
Al Herpin died in New Jersey in 1947. This man was known for the fact that in his almost 100 years that he managed to live, he never fell asleep. I mean, he didn’t even know what sleep was.
There was no bed in his house, and when night fell, he simply sat down in his favorite armchair and read a book until morning. This is how Al recovered. After that, as if nothing had happened, he went to work.
Doctors and scientists were unable to explain this phenomenon. They even took turns watching in his room. But they turned out to be fruitless. That is, no one succeeded in convicting him of any dirty trick.
There was a similar case in Indiana. Only David Jones sometimes needed a good rest. He had periods of insomnia alternating with periods of sleep. About once every two years he stopped sleeping for about three or four months. Then he returned to normal life. An interesting fact is that David always had a premonition in a few weeks that insomnia would soon happen.
In Hungary in the early 1900s, Rachel Sagy began to experience severe headaches. Doctors could not do anything to appease them and simply recommended more sleep so that the body recovers and rests. But she couldn’t sleep anymore.
Even sleeping pills could not help Rachel sink into even a light nap. After that day, she lived another 25 years, awake around the clock.
Mathematical Calculus
Shakuntali Devi, a little girl from India at the age of 6 amazed the world. She could perform various arithmetic operations with ten-digit numbers in a few seconds.
Moreover, the result in her head arose with lightning speed, and the remaining few seconds were spent directly on saying it out loud.
At the age of 7, she was able to develop her skills so much that she easily raised multi-digit numbers even to the fifth power.
It is only surprising that the talent extended only to mathematical calculations. In other areas, her abilities were so mediocre that some subjects had to be taken several times to get a satisfactory score.
sighted blind
In 1840, shocking news appeared in the newspapers of Italy, a 14-year-old girl from the village, having lost her sight in early childhood, learned to see with her palms. She could well distinguish colors and even recognized people who silently entered her room.
And in Virginia in 1960, 16-year-old Margaret Foos baffled many scientists. She did not lose her sight, but could, with her eyes tightly closed, read books with her forehead. A lot of experiments were carried out with her, up to those where they sealed the eyelids with an opaque tape, but in the end she still coped with the task.
It turned out that this feature was noticed by her father, watching her play hide and seek. No matter how blindfolded, Margaret was perfectly oriented in space and always found friends who were hiding.
Then he began to intensively study with her, until he managed to achieve tremendous success, that is, reading with his forehead. The girl could calmly walk around the city with a blindfold on her eyes and at the same time observe its beauty.
Rules
Before we move on to ways that will help develop mental capabilities, I want to remind you of the rules, ignoring which will not give you the desired results. You must know how to use the resources of the body to your advantage, and not to your detriment.
Food
To fully function, the brain needs to receive certain substances that are found in different foods.
Proper nutrition, which will saturate your body with the necessary trace elements, vitamins and other things, will make it easier to complete the task. Also, we must not forget about the sufficient amount of clean water consumed. When dehydrated, no matter how hard you try, it will be very difficult to train.
Physical activity
Those individuals who lead a passive lifestyle are at risk of experiencing such a violation as physical inactivity. That is, the weakening of the muscular activity of the body. And it leads to the appearance of cholesterol plaques in the vessels, which create obstacles to proper blood circulation.
As a result, neither the hemispheres nor the rest of the vital organs receive enough oxygen to function normally.
Simply put, a person who prefers to lie on the couch all his free time, no matter how hard he tries to engage in mental development, will feel difficulties in thought processes, problems with memory and information processing.
Exercise at least twice a week. It is not necessary to run a marathon and set any records, even Pilates classes will have a beneficial effect on health, increasing the activity and efficiency of your activity.
Exercises
Blind
Take care of the safety of the space in which you will be during the exercise. The essence of which is to, blindfolded, perform the usual daily household tasks.
At first it will be difficult, perhaps even scary. But over time, your brain will begin to work, focusing on other senses.
Start with 10-15 minute workouts, gradually increasing the time, focusing on the sensations.
After that, for reflection, that is, better assimilation and understanding of the experience gained, ask yourself a series of questions:
- What helped to navigate in space?
- What did you rely on to deal with anxiety and insecurity?
- What was bothering you at the time of the assignment?
- What changes have taken place in your sensory sphere? Were sounds and touches perceived differently? If so, how?
Music
The influence of classical music on mental abilities has been proven for a very long time. Even plants react positively to it, what can we say about a person. There is even such a thing as the “Mozart effect”.
If you often listen to the works of the great classics, you can track how your vocabulary improves, IQ increases, visual acuity increases, and memory strengthens. Among other things, it will become easier for you to learn foreign languages and even create something of your own.
It is not necessary to put off work and everyday activities in order to sit down to listen to music. On the contrary, turn it on quietly so that it is present in the background while you work.
Braille
Braille is a tactile font that was created specifically for blind or visually impaired people. Mastering it is quite difficult, but if you give it your all, you will definitely succeed.
Start with simple, standard phrases like hello and goodbye. Over time, move on to the alphabet as a whole and more complex questions and answers.
The ability to read with fingers will not only be a good resource in everyday life, but will also develop the sensory sphere. The brain activates those neurons that usually do not take an active part in the activity.
So why not try to reach your potential, who knows what hidden talents you have?
Coins
Look for coins of different denominations. I do not urge you to become numismatists, that is, collectors. No, you need them to train fine motor skills and develop tactile sensations. Every time you have a free minute, try to distinguish by touch what denomination the coin is in your hands.
It is especially useful if you do this exercise while waiting. So no time will be wasted. When the task is given to you with ease, try to switch to banknotes and all sorts of small items that you can put in your pocket and study if possible.
No sound
Turn on a movie or your favorite shows, turn off the sound and try to lip-read what the actors and other characters are saying. This skill is very useful in life, in addition to helping to activate the work of the hemispheres.
At first, of course, you won’t really understand anything, but attentiveness and the ability to concentrate will help you achieve results.
