Founder of the studio “Fidgets” Elena Pingjoyan told Woman’s Day how to grow a star out of any child and whether it needs to be done.
For my pedagogical and guiding practice by the children’s team “Fidgets” I really very often hear the question: “Will my child become a star?” watching your baby. After all, it is the parent’s task to reveal the makings of a musician, artist, athlete, aircraft designer in a little person and help them develop. It is important to create the necessary creative environment from the very birth of your child, which will subsequently be able to instill in him a craving for some kind of creativity.
For example, when I was pregnant, I read aloud Greek myths, Russian fairy tales, read about little Julia Caesar. And when Kiryusha was born, 40 minutes before bedtime I put classical music for him in the background and read fairy tales to it. Captivate your child – tell about famous personalities who have achieved great success in life! And, of course, in parallel, watch his reaction, listen to what questions the child asks in response. And to even more clearly define your child’s interest, reduce him to “production.” Surely among your friends there are those who are associated with interesting professions. How a dentist works, how scientists work in laboratories, after the theatrical performance, ask to walk along the backstage of the theater – show your child how the working process works from the inside. I am absolutely sure that all children, without exception, are gifted with something, and God has rewarded everyone with something. It is only important to see his cravings.
I watch a lot of kids who come to our auditions. For me, the most important role is played by the look, organics and stage charisma of the child. And also his attitude. If a child has fire in his eyes, if he is ready to move mountains, if he really wants to achieve his goal, he will achieve it. And if the look has gone out, the shoulders are hunched over, the head is lowered and the baby shows with his whole appearance: “Leave me all alone,” then neither hearing nor voice will save him. Useless. Our task is to take a child who is really comfortable with public attention, who has a disposition for an ear for music, a sense of rhythm, and recitation of poetry. Therefore, teaching focuses on the development of the child’s own talents. We work with his personality. It is important to develop children comprehensively: stage speech so that they can formulate their thoughts, musical literacy so that they can purely intonate, choreography – classical and modern, so that they develop their physical plasticity and be liberated. It so happens that I ask a young soloist: “What do you dream of becoming when you become an adult?” If he answers me: “Star”, I will certainly correct him. After all, it is important to understand the difference between a profession and a result. Becoming an artist or a star is the result of creative development. Therefore, I strongly recommend all parents to motivate their child to get a profession, tune in to hard work, and not abstractly dream of a stellar career. After all, the best profession is to become a good person. And recognition, as a result of your work, will surely follow!
