How to destroy a hornet’s nest under a roof, in the ground: tips

Residents of apartments rarely face the problem of destroying a wasp nest, which cannot be said about summer residents and people who live in private houses. Therefore, many are interested in how to destroy a hornet’s nest quickly and without unnecessary hassle.

How to destroy a hornet’s nest under a roof: options

All “operations” to eliminate the wasp nest are carried out in the dark, when the temperature outside is below average. A person must definitely dress up in a tight suit to protect against insects, gloves and a special mask for beekeepers are needed.

One of the most common questions: how to destroy the hornet’s nest under the roof? The nest can be abundantly sprayed with kerosene. Since the material of the nest is crushed wood, the kerosene instantly penetrates inside and affects the respiratory system of the wasps. Insects die at lightning speed.

If the nest is located in an inconvenient place for destruction and there is no access to it, then the exit from this place is thoroughly foamed, leaving not a single crack.

Everyone’s favorite dichlorvos is best used if, after spraying, the nest can be immediately isolated from fresh air. As a rule, a thick plastic bag is used for this.

This method requires some dexterity and skill. A person silently approaches the nest, carefully throws a dense polyethylene bag over it, tears it off with a sharp movement and closes the bag. After that, you can do whatever comes to mind with the bag: burn it over the fire or pour boiling water in a large container.

If a person does not want to destroy living beings in his soul, then he can, with a clear conscience, take up the resettlement of wasps to another place. This is done using the following methods:

  • The nest is packed in a bag, but instead of destroying it, they simply take it to a deserted place where the wasps will not harm anyone. This operation must be done with great care at night;
  • at a distance of 15–20 cm from the nest, substances with a strong odor are placed (red pepper, “Domestos”, used car oil). The pungent smell will not please the insects, and they will not slow down to move to another place.

In winter, the nest can be safely removed and destroyed, since there are no living individuals there. But, so that in the warm season the wasps do not return to their old habitat, the area of the former nest must be treated with insecticides. Insects will immediately fly away in search of a more suitable place to live.

Before destroying a hornet’s nest in the earth, you need to think that all creatures on the planet perform their functions. Therefore, do not kill insects, it is better to drive them out using the above methods.
