Cleaning the coffee machine with a decalciner

Well-known manufacturers of kitchen appliances, as a rule, produce chemical care products. Knowing the characteristics and features of their coffee machines, they indicate the optimal dosage and method of using a decalcifier – a descaling agent. That is why it is necessary to choose a professional cleaner of the same brand as the technique.

Decalcification products are available in the form of tablets, powders and gels. The active ingredients of the preparations are various acids: phosphinic, citric, malic, maleic. Coffee machine cleaning fluids include, in addition to organic acids, corrosion inhibitors and water.

How to descale a coffee machine: video and instructions

The packaging of any decalcifier contains a detailed description of the cleaning process. In addition, some coffee machine manufacturers produce video instructions on how to use the products. Decalcification of machines is carried out in the following sequence:

1. Add cleaning agent and a liter of warm water to the water tank.

2. The coffee maker is turned on. Several cups of liquid are passed through a hot water tube.

3. The machine is disconnected from the mains. Keep the hot water tap open for the next five minutes.

4. The coffee maker is switched on again to perform the cleaning cycle again. And so on up to 5 times.

5. Close the hot water tap. Several cups of coffee are brewed with a decalcifier in the hopper. They are not drunk, but poured out.

6. Repeat the procedure until the container runs out of cleaner.

Finally, the hopper is washed and the whole cycle is repeated again, but without a cleaning agent. For coffee machines that have a self-descaling function, an automatic cleaning mode is started at this stage.

There are also popular methods of descaling. To clean the coffee maker, dilute a pack of citric acid in two liters of warm water. The filter is cleaned at the coffee maker, and then the resulting solution is poured into it. Then the car is started. When half of the liquid has flowed out, the device is turned off. After a third of an hour, the coffee maker is turned on again so that the remaining liquid also drains out. At the end, the device is thoroughly rinsed by passing clean water through it four times.

So, the most effective way to descale your coffee maker is to use a professional decalcifier. If you don’t have one at hand, you can also use citric acid.
