Despite the fact that store shelves are literally bursting with an abundance of various baked goods, it cannot be compared with homemade, soaked in the warmth of the hostess’s hands. Unfortunately, there is not always time to knead fresh dough, in which case the dough stored in the freezer will come to the rescue, since it takes a few minutes to defrost it.
How to quickly defrost dough in the microwave
If there is a mode for defrosting products in the oven, then it remains only to calculate the mass of the dough and indicate it when choosing the duration of the process. But in this case, it must be turned over several times, otherwise the defrosting will be uneven. Even so, the likelihood of the dough remaining cold in the middle is quite high. Therefore, it should be remembered that even when choosing the shortest defrosting method, there should always be some margin of time, since the middle of the dough must reach softness at room temperature, otherwise there is a high risk that the dough will be spoiled by the end of the defrosting process in the microwave.
It is important not to overexpose the dough, otherwise its top will be covered with a crust, and then it will be problematic to cook delicious pastries from it.
How to quickly defrost puff pastry in the oven
Here the principle of high temperatures is taken as a basis, but this does not mean that the dough must be laid out in a hot oven. The oven heats up, turns off, and when the air in it becomes warm, not hot, you can start defrosting. This method will only speed up the defrosting process slightly, but it is less effective than defrosting in the microwave. You can just as well put the dough on a hot battery and turn it over from time to time.
In this case, the dough bag is immersed in a container of hot water so that it completely covers it. But it is much safer for the test to think about defrosting it in advance and use room temperatures.
The duration of defrosting depends on the weight of the dough, but on average, a layer of a finished semi-finished product weighing 0,5 kg will reach a soft consistency in a couple of hours
How to quickly defrost yeast dough in the refrigerator
This is the most time consuming method. In order to get the dough ready for further cooking, it is necessary to transfer it from the freezer to the refrigerator in advance on the lower shelf, where the temperatures are highest. If you do this at night, then in the morning you can start baking. Despite the length of the process, it can be considered the most gentle, since the dough does not have time to weather or dry out, which happens to it when exposed to high temperatures.
