The design of the living room can be approached in different ways. Our designers first chose color combinations, and only then – everything else … A rough estimate is attached to each project.
How to decorate a living room
Most are sure that home improvement should start with a visit to a construction market or a specialized store of finishing materials and furniture. But this approach can lead to errors. After all, a harmonious interior is the result of a skillful composition of colors, as well as a thoughtful combination of pieces of furniture and accessories that match each other in style. Professional designers create a tablet or album first. The album collects samples of wallpaper and upholstery fabrics, as well as presents a complete “painting” (suggested colors for this interior). Pieces of wood veneer, parquet boards and even ceramic tiles are placed on the tablet.
We also advise you to make something like an album. It is better to start compiling it by looking for sources of inspiration. They can be found anywhere – in a museum, your favorite restaurant, outdoors, and even in a store. Just think about which color combinations are especially close to you. An album can include vacation photos, autumn leaves, a wrapper of your favorite chocolate, a curious magazine clipping or a billboard – in short, anything that will help recreate a pleasant atmosphere. When the time comes to settle in an apartment or house, the pre-collected and systematized data will clearly show how and in what proportions it is better to combine the elements you like. First, the puzzle will be formed in thoughts and on paper, and then it will be the turn of shopping.

The main thing in this room was the color of the eggplant. This solution looks original and at the same time extremely comfortable. The room turned out to be emphatically chamber, as if fenced off from the whole world. At the same time, the designer managed to make the interior truly exquisite by choosing different shades of milk chocolate and antique gold as companions for the “eggplant”. The layout of the living room is not complicated – all the furniture is grouped in the center of the room. The emphasis is on the play of different textures: the warmth of the matte walls is balanced by the coolness of the glossy ceramic floor, the gloss of leather and brocade upholstery – with muted notes of soft velvet.
It is noticeable that special attention is paid to the selection of textiles. The window is decorated with plain velvet curtains and a translucent Roman blind with arabesque designs. There is a lot of brocade in the room, as well as pillows with covers made of printed or embroidered fabric.
One wall of the room is covered with paper wallpaper. Their background color is chocolate, and the drawing – stylized “Turkish cucumbers” (paisley) – is applied with gold paint.
The artificially aged leather used for the upholstery of the sofa looks spectacular next to the natural beech from which the antique table is made. Pouf Waisted Ottoman (Halo), 29 630 RUB., Home Concept.
It is not difficult to arrange such a false fireplace: you just need to cover the firebox with water-based paint and frame the portal with polyurethane foam stucco molding.

The designer’s creative idea is based on the use of two contrasting colors – cool blue and warm sand. They became the main ones in the interior. And additional neutrals are white and gray. But the designer did not limit himself to coloristic confrontation. He also used such a decorative characteristic as the degree of gloss. As a result, the almost mirrored surface of the ceramic floor coexists peacefully with the soft carpet. Pay attention to the way the walls are decorated: their lower part is painted, and the upper one is pasted over with wallpaper. This technique visually raises the ceilings, it even seems that there is more air in the living room.
The “antique” setting is complemented by quite modern tables. However, such a neighborhood does not cause protest – all items are made of light-colored wood.
Structurally, the drum table is similar to a box. It is enough to lift the lid-table top, and a spacious storage container will open for you. You can hide anything in it, for example, magazines, books, pillows.
The material of manufacture – thin plywood – allows you to move the coffee table from place to place and create a guest area either by the fireplace or next to the sofa.
Both coffee table tops are trays. This means that everything you need, for example, for tea drinking, can be served in the kitchen, and then moved to the living room.
The border between the two finishing materials of different textures is closed with curly polyurethane foam molding. It was painted the same color as the lower part of the walls.

The designer made active red the color basis of this interior. And in support of him I picked up different shades of brown – from pastel to rich. Both colors are warm, so the room is extremely calm and cozy. However, it is not only the color composition that is responsible for the comfort of staying in it. The designer tried to fully realize the potential of finishing materials, furnishings, accessories. Everything in the room is aimed at maintaining a welcoming, welcoming atmosphere: an armchair and a sofa in stylish covers, wicker (basket, coffee table) and forged items.
Pictures can be hung on the wall in the usual way, or you can use a console shelf as a support. In addition, there is room for several books.
The designer has added a wicker coffee table with a removable tray top with a chased pattern. It is original, convenient, and if you take into account the material for making the table, it is very practical.
Since there are no shelves or walls in the living room, the designer has provided other storage places: a spacious wicker basket and original decorated boxes.
A piece of furniture made using the forging technology always brings a refined note to the interior. Pay attention, thanks to the forged consoles, a whole theater of shadows will play out on the wall.
