It is impossible to imagine the New Year without a Christmas tree! She is the same symbol of the holiday as the chiming clock, the smell of tangerines, champagne or Santa Claus. And so that the tree is also the most beautiful, you will have to try. Fortunately, the fashion for monochrome Christmas trees, when all the toys on the tree were of only one color, has sunk into the past. And now we can safely fantasize! So, decorating the Christmas tree 2015!

“Decorating a Christmas tree is a premonition of happiness. Despite the fact that we live in the Christian world, this is a pagan symbol that brings everyone a lot of joy. My advice: you need to decorate the tree richer. And when you hang up each toy, you must make wishes and dream about something new! “

So the main trend is the richness of shapes and colors.… But here a sense of proportion is important, otherwise your tree will turn out to be too colorful and overloaded with decor. Hanging 10 colored balls on one branch is still not worth it.

But originality is encouraged. And if you want something new and unusual – feel free to try, otherwise you will have to wait another 12 months for the next chance.

An example for inspiration is the “dancing” Christmas tree from Parfenova, which the designer decided to devote to the classical Russian ballet. A living tree 4 meters high was installed in the lobby of the Astoria Hotel, and it took the fashion house team as much as 8 hours to decorate such a Christmas tree.

The branches of the tree are literally “dressed” in a snow-white net, reminiscent of a pack of ballerinas. In addition, many colorful glass toys – balls, horses, flowers and angels – sparkle on the Christmas tree.

“The thin sharp needles of the Christmas tree in combination with airy glass embody a keen desire to be happy and the fragility of all that is precious.”

All toys for the Christmas tree in Astoria were made by hand on a special order from Parfenova at the Signoretto Lampadari Venetian glass factory. In Russia, this factory became famous for the fact that it was there that seven chandeliers were made as a gift to the State Hermitage on the occasion of its 250th anniversary.

And this is how Tatyana Parfenova’s tree tops were created: the Italians recorded the whole process on video.

Handsomely? Then – go ahead, for the toys! After all, glass Christmas balls and figurines can also be bought in St. Petersburg stores, however, you will have to look. But to tie a “ballet” net to a tree or not, decide for yourself. And remember that New Year is a family holiday. If someone from your family does not appreciate your bold experiment, you should not take offense at him and spoil the triumph with scandals and showdowns. Ideally, decorate the tree together, then everyone will like the result.

And finally advice from Woman’s Day: brightly colored toys look good on a green, natural-colored herringbone or pine tree. If your tree is not green, but silver or gold – take a closer look at toys made of transparent glass, the combination will be especially exquisite.
