How to deal with stretch marks during pregnancy
The appearance of stretch marks during pregnancy spoils both the appearance and the mood. It is impossible to remove them with home remedies, and salon procedures are expensive and contraindicated while the baby is waiting. How to deal with stretch marks during pregnancy? Is it possible to avoid their appearance?
Why do stretch marks appear during pregnancy?
The main cause of stretch marks is a change in hormonal levels in pregnant women, due to which the synthesis of collagen and elastin is disrupted. The skin becomes thin and inelastic, its fibers are damaged and tears appear in the inner layers, which appear through the epidermis with pink-red or bluish scars.
Over time, the places of rupture are overgrown with connective tissue, stretch marks brighten and become whitish shiny stripes.

- hereditary tendency;

- dryness of the epidermis.
With every pregnancy, new stretch marks may appear.
How to deal with stretch marks during pregnancy?
It is better to start preventing the appearance of striae six months before pregnancy or in its early stages. To avoid them, the skin must be healthy and supple.
Before conception:
- Bring your weight back to normal with physical activity and good nutrition. From extreme diets, the skin will become thinner and saggy;
- eat vegetable oils and potassium-rich foods – apricots, bananas, pears, raisins;
- drink at least 2 liters of water per day;
- take a contrast shower daily to improve blood circulation and firm skin;
- after a shower, massage and moisturize the skin of the “risk zones” with cream – this will prepare it for stress.
When pregnancy occurs, take the following measures:
- walk daily, do yoga, stretching, gymnastics, swimming or water aerobics in groups for pregnant women;
- control weight gain, do not allow it to increase sharply – limit flour, fatty, sweet and salty;
- eat protein (lean meat, fish, eggs, cottage cheese, cheese, nuts) – a building material for collagen fibers, fruits and vegetables – a source of vitamins for skin health, vegetable oil;
- if there are no problems with edema, drink a lot – with dehydration, the skin loses its elasticity;

From the first months after conception, 1-2 times a day after a shower, rub your thighs and buttocks with a hard towel and gently rub olive oil or a special cream or gel for stretch marks for pregnant women into the skin of the abdomen, breasts, buttocks and thighs;
- support the enlarged breasts with a comfortable bra with wide straps;
- Wear a prenatal brace from 4-5 months.
How to deal with emerging stretch marks during pregnancy? When itchy skin and thin pink stretch marks appear, thoroughly lubricate problem areas with olive oil or cream for stretch marks – this way they will not deepen, quickly brighten and become slightly noticeable.
