Are you overwhelmed by the idea of creating a Twitter profile? Don’t worry.A Twitter profile is easy to do, especially if you break it down into manageable parts:
- Twitter ID (@NameofYourRestaurant): This is how people will find you on Twitter! The best practice is to use the name of your restaurant; that way, people can easily find you. It can only be 15 characters long.
- Profile photo: Your photo should be a visual representation of your restaurant, that is, a photo of your logo or the restaurant.
- Bio: With a 160 character limit, you want to make sure you have the proper information about your business, including a link to your website, location, and business hours.
- Header Image – This is the image that appears behind your profile photo. The headline can be a panoramic image of the interior of your restaurant, it can help you promote an upcoming event or highlight any of your restaurant news.
- Pinned Tweet: When people visit your profile, the pinned tweet is the first tweet people see, and it’s right below your bio and other information. It can be changed at any time and is generally used for promotional purposes, to highlight current offers or share news.
- Once you’ve created your profile, you can start sending your brand content to your followers.
Twitter tips
There is no one right way to use a social platform, but check out these tips and tricks that can help you use Twitter effectively for your restaurant.
- Use hashtags. Hashtags are simple words or phrases signified by the # symbol. They are generally lists of content indexed in one place. They can be trends based on conversations in your area or promoted by companies. Create your own or interact with your trending topics. Just make sure they are relevant to your brand.
- Commit to other accounts. If you are not speaking, people will not see your profile.
- Either through the promotion of your tweets, trends and accounts.
- Don’t just tweet in text. Add images, gifs, and polls! The variety in content will cut through the noise and keep your followers’ attention.
- Use direct messages to handle problems in private.
- Tweet live (as needed), don’t always schedule your tweets
- Interact with influential people in your industry. Micro and macro influencers have a vast and loyal fan base, and your restaurant has the opportunity to gain more exposure.
- Ask for retweets. Did you know that the probability that your tweet will be retweeted increases 12 times if you ask your audience to retweet?
- Participate in Twitter chats. These chats are a great way to interact in real time with leaders and companies in your or other industries.
Tweeting timely
Twitter can be a platform intensive. People tweet constantly.
How often should you tweet? It depends on your goals and your audience. Don’t worry. You can post multiple times a day.
The best advice? Test, test, test. Take a week and schedule posts throughout the day. For example, schedule 7 tweets one day, 12 tweets the next day, and so on. Then analyze those tweets.
You can ask yourself:
- Which ones had an answer?
- What time of day did you notice it?
- Did any tweet not have any activity?
- How can you improve those tweets?
Consider all of these things while testing how many tweets work.
Unfortunately, there is no article that gives the exact answer for the ideal number of tweets.
