Sewerage
Inhabitants of old houses quite often have to deal with musty amber emanating from the sewers. To get rid of this trouble, you can 1 tsp. pour peppermint oil directly into the sewer pipe, and after a while start up hot water. This will help clear up the offensive odor and determine where the problem is (leak or blockage).
Burnt dishes
Unfortunately, the smell of burning quickly spreads throughout the house and is absorbed into all objects. Therefore, we must act quickly. First, you need to open the windows and the front door to provide fresh air. If you have an air conditioner installed in your apartment, then set it to the maximum ventilation mode. Clothes that have managed to smell like smoke should be immediately washed. Also pour water into a saucepan, boil and add cloves, mint, lemon balm. The vapor that will evaporate will neutralize the unpleasant burning smell. If you have burned something in the pan, then take vinegar and water, mix them and bring the mixture to a boil over low heat. Leave it as it is and after a couple of hours the aromatic impurities will eliminate all bad odors.
Pets
If pets are the cause of the unpleasant smell, it is easy enough to fix it. For example, the carpet can be cleaned with baking soda. Simply sprinkle baking soda on the carpet, let it sit for 15-20 minutes, and then vacuum it. Wet puddles from the carpet can be soaked up with newspaper and paper towels, rinsed with clean water and blotted again with paper towels. There will be no trace of the smell. If your pet could not resist and left a more unpleasant surprise on your carpet, then you need to act with the same napkins, rinse the dirty place with water and a little cleaning agent, dry it again with paper towels and sprinkle with black pepper. Pepper will do a great job with unpleasant odors. After a while, the carpet can be vacuumed.
With your own hands
You don’t have to run for expensive diffusers or scented candles to improve the smell in your apartment. Better to go to the kitchen and cook something aromatic. Apple-lemon pie, gingerbread, or brew herbal tea with cinnamon.
