By default, Excel copies both visible and hidden cells. However, only visible cells can be copied.
In this example, line 2 is hidden:
If you just copy and then paste this range, the result is as follows:
To copy only visible cells, follow a few simple steps:
- Highlight a range A1: A4.
- On the Advanced tab Home (Home) click Find & Select (Find and select) and click on Go To Special (Select a group of cells).
- Select an option Visible cells only (Only visible cells) and click OK.
- Excel will highlight the visible cells. Now hit combination Ctrl + Cto copy the range.
- Select cell A6 and press Ctrl + Vto insert a range.
