Selecting multiple charts or shapes
The first thing to do before you start working with multiple charts or shapes is to select them. To select multiple objects:
- Select any diagram by clicking on its border with the left mouse button.
- Press and hold the key Ctrl.
- Select the next chart (or shape).
Both charts will be highlighted. Now they can be moved, copied, aligned or deleted.
Quick copying charts using the Ctrl key
Move method with Ctrl is a quick way to make a copy of a diagram.
- Select the diagram by left-clicking on its border.
- Start moving the diagram with the mouse.
- Press the key Ctrl. The outline of a new shape will appear.
- Release the left mouse button to complete the copy.
You can use the keyboard shortcut to create a copy of a chart. Ctrl + D. In this case, you will need to select and move the new chart to the desired location.
Copy and align charts (or shapes) with Ctrl+Shift
This is one of my favorite tricks because it can align charts (or shapes) perfectly.
- Select the diagram by left-clicking on its border.
- Start moving the diagram with the mouse.
- Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift. The outline of the selected shape will appear.
- The new shape will be aligned (either vertically or horizontally) with the original shape.
- Release the left mouse button to complete the copy.
This method is very good in that it saves time, which in another situation is spent on aligning charts after creating a copy. This method is very useful when creating multiple charts on a sheet.
Alignment buttons are located on the tab Framework (Format) that appears on the Menu Ribbon when charts or shapes are selected. I often use these buttons to get my reports and reports in order.

- Select the desired alignment option on the tab Framework (Format).
commands Distribute Horizontally и vertically (Distribute Horizontally and Vertically), which are located in the menu Align (Align) are very helpful when you need to make equal spaces between shapes.
