How to cook sweet pilaf

Sweet pilaf is not just sweet porridge or a kind of kuti. This is a great option for kids’ menus and vegetarians.

Take rice – parboiled and long-grain, pilaf should be crumbly. You will also need dried fruits – dried apricots, raisins, prunes, apples and dates. You can add carrots and pumpkin – seasonal sweet fruits and vegetables will add vitamins to the pilaf. If you have seasonings and spices – also feel free to add them to your taste: barberry, ginger, cumin, cloves, herbs. Try it to match your taste.

The first option is to bring the rice to semi-cooked and add the rest of the ingredients, cook pilaf over low heat.

The second option is to cook rice and dried fruits separately, and only combine them before serving.

Season pilaf with butter, you can add cream to taste. Sugar is not needed, since dried fruits will give the sweetness.
