A simple, quick and satisfying dish, navy-style pasta is quite within the power to cook an older child or dad who sent mom to a bachelorette party.
Unlike “Pasta bolognese” the classic composition of the dish includes only pasta, a lot of onions and meat.
Consider two options for how to cook navy pasta, simple and real.
Usually, for the preparation of this dish, pasta is not chosen long and thin, but on the contrary, short and thick, so that the meat component has a place to roam. Feathers, tubules, horns, or curls work just fine.
Boil pasta as advised by the instructions on the package, in a large amount of salted water, stirring constantly for the first minutes, then occasionally.
Navy fast pasta
Ingredients:
- Pasta – 0,5 kg.
- Minced meat (beef + pork) – 0,8 kg.
- Onions – 2 pc.
- Sunflower oil – 2 tbsp. l.
- Butter – 50 gr.
- Tomato paste – 50 gr. (optional)
- Salt, ground black pepper – to taste.
Put a pan for cooking pasta on the fire, chop the onion and fry in a deep frying pan for 3-4 minutes, add the minced meat and cook, constantly breaking the meat lumps, 15-25 minutes, depending on the composition of the minced meat. Simultaneously boil the pasta and discard them in a colander. Season the minced meat with salt and pepper, add the tomato paste and mix thoroughly. Send ready-made pasta and butter to the meat, mix intensively and cook together for 2-3 minutes so that the pasta is soaked. Serve with herbs and fresh vegetables.
Real navy pasta
Ingredients:
- Beef (thick rim or pulp on the bone) – 0,9 kg.
- Pasta – 0,5 kg.
- Carrots – 1 pieces.
- Bay leaf – 2 pcs.
- Black pepper – 5 peas
- Onions – 2 pc.
- Butter – 50 gr.
- Salt, ground black pepper – to taste.
Boil the meat with the addition of carrots, bay leaves, salt and peppercorns. Cool in broth, grind in a meat grinder or with a blender. Finely chop the onion, fry in oil until transparent in a deep frying pan or cauldron. Send the chopped meat to the onion, cook for a few minutes, salt. If the meat is dry, add broth so that the consistency is close to liquid. Boil the pasta, put it in a colander and add to the meat. Stir, warm and serve, sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper.
