The traditional way of cooking beans with soaking takes a long time. But how to get out if you need ready-made beans urgently?
There are two proven ways:
The first way
Put uncooked beans to cook as usual. After boiling the water, add baking soda to it – literally on the tip of a knife. Soda will reduce the cooking time, and in an hour, depending on the variety, you will get the finished product.
The second way
It involves cooking beans with the addition of cold water. You will need a large saucepan, as the amount of water in which the beans will be cooked will gradually increase.
So, put unsoaked beans in a small amount of water on the fire. As soon as the water boils, add a glass of cold water. Then, each time the water boils, add a glass of water again – and so 4-5 times, as the beans are ready. Cooking time in this way – 40 minutes.
Here are some secrets for quick cooking beans:
- Do not salt the beans until cooked. Otherwise you will get the opposite effect: the beans will harden and will cook worse.
- Colored beans cook faster.
- Rinse the beans for salads with cool water after cooking, it will be noticeably tastier.
