Word allows you to highlight text with color, like a marker on paper. You can color specific blocks of text using the formatting tools. But what if you need to copy all non-contiguous highlighted text fragments into a separate document?

You can do it manually. To do this, first select the first section of text with the mouse, then scroll to the next section highlighted in color, hold Ctrl, and add this piece of text to the already selected one with the mouse. Repeat this process for each highlighted section of text and press Ctrl + C.

However, manual work quickly gets boring and takes a lot of time. There is an easier way to select all the highlighted sections of text at once, so that you can then copy them and paste them into a separate Word document or other program.

To do this, press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + H… A dialog box will open Find and Replace (Find and replace). Go to its tab Find (Find).

A message appears with information about how many items were found that match the specified criteria. To close the dialog box, press the key Esc or button Х in the upper right corner of the dialog box.

All parts of the text highlighted in color are added to the selection. Click Ctrl + Cto copy all selected text.

To copy text into a new Word file, click the Fillet (File).

In the list of commands on the left side of the window, click New (Create).

When a new document opens, press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Vto insert text. Formatting will be preserved, and each fragment will take its own paragraph.

Note: If you want to remove the selection from text when you paste it, use Paste Options (Paste Options) to paste only text without formatting.

Remember that it is not necessary to paste the copied text into the Word file. You can paste it into word processors, other word processing programs, and even email.
